I installed on post, replacing different box. Did not pay attention to be sure I left enough room to open the front door. Got it installed, then realized platform it was attached to blocked door from opening. Had to take apart and re do. Moving it forward created issue with back side, with platform protruding. Should have shortened platform. But it worked as is. Operator error, not a problem with the box. Love it. Except when mailman stuffs mail in longways, vs sideways, and it hangs up in the opening, not dropping all the way inside. Again, operating error.

Hopefully this will last a long time. Doors were tested to make sure they open adequately. I was lucky to get a very good mason who blocked it out so very little water from weather will directly touch the mailbox. I like the coating on it as it is a layer of weatherproofing.

I had my masonry guy incorporate this into our new mailbox build. Yup it got hit. Again. We wanted to be able to check the mail without having to turn our backs to the crazy drivers on our street. And with lots of reports of mailbox thefts around us it's nice to have it locked up. We love it. The only drawback is that the opening doesn't allow smaller packages to fit that would have fit in our old mailbox because the opening is smaller. The mail person has to bring them and drop them off on our porch instead.
