Received the first one and was not sealed in the box. Looked like someone elses return. Tried it and it worked, then the LCD screen started peeling off the second day. Happy to report, I was given a newer exchange and it looks great, but box was still unsealed upon delivery.

It works great but there needs to be an indicator light that shows when each outlet is off or on. I have a lightless heat lamp and got burned because I thought the temperature plug wasn't working since the lamp wasn't hot or turned on even when the beeping showed the temp needed to be raised. It finally came on hours later and nearly burned down my home. Thankfully the burned area did not catch fire. A light showing when it is on or off would help determine if it is working or not. Also I still haven gotten the timing outlet feature to work, but I don't really need that one so I didn't return it. The humidity outlet works perfectly and is the main reason that I bought this item. It keeps my snake enclosure balanced for days even if I have to be away for a week.

Love it, I have 2. Wish it came with a sound on/off option but it doesn't. I had to cut the speaker wire because at all hours of day and night the slightest change it beeps non stop. However I cannot seem to find replacement hygrometer cables for this unit. They are plug ins so I'd assume they'd sale replacements but haven't been able to find one yet.

I am not sure why there are so many complaints about programming this. It took me about 5 minutes, but I am a child of the digital watch era so it is a little familiar to me. The most confusing thing is setting the sunrise/sunset times since its only two digits. This left me scratching my head for a second. Instead of putting 8:00 am you would put 08 and for 5:00 pm you have to put 17 (this thing uses military time). If you are using this in a bioactive or live planted tank it would be best for animals that do not have a UVB requirement or can utilize UVB and heat on one fixture (like the Zilla low profile dual) since it has limited power sources. It only comes with three controls, Heat, Timer & Humidity. The timer runs my grow/LED lights for the plants, the humidity runs the fogger, and the heat runs my dual dome UVB/halogen heat source. The ability to program night temperatures for a nightime heat drop prevents my UVB/halogen light from flipping on when the temp drops, but this only works for me because my house temps are fairly stable. If you are in a drafty house, you probably would be better off using a conventional heat source on the thermostat and running your UVB lighting on the timer. I also experimented running my light source on a separate wall timer and used the timer feature to run my ventilation fans four times a day (there are four timer schedules but only one plug making three of the timers useless for anything but fans or maybe a water feature). That was a pretty useful setup but you are still running your grow lights through a separate control. I would love to see the manufacturer add another one (or even two) timer outlets so that the other three timers could actually be used. That was my only reason for taking away one star. Its still a solid bargain for animals with basic to moderate husbandry needs.

I've had this item for a few months now and works great keeping my hermit crabs happy. The one biggest problem is the beeping. As soon as the temp goes below the programmed level it beeps constantly until temp is back in range. Constant beeping 24hrs a day
