I have been playing the guitar for years and I wanted a small travel guitar. I was considering a ukulele, and then I came across this little gem. I considered Martin (I have always wanted a Martin) and other more known brands, and ultimately I decided on this one because the reviews were really good and the package was impressive. I am thoroughly happy with this purchase. The built-in tuner is surprisingly awesome! I didn't think it would matter much, but I LOVE it. Highly recommend this. The sound is better than I thought it would be - is more classical with the nylon strings and I love that. It has a nice deep mellow sound for such a small body. I haven't tried it with an amplifier yet. That should be fun. I also want to try with other strings eventually to see what other sound I can get out of it. This thing is so accessible and fun! Can't go wrong for this price!

As a guitarist who has played many fine instruments in a variety of genres, I highly recommend this Caramel Electric/Acoustic Guitalele. I think I've only written a couple reviews before this, but I'm psyched about this instrument and it has apparently inspired me to write a review.
It would not stay in tune for the first 10 hours or so hours after I unboxed it and I pretty much decided to send it back. I'm so glad I gave it another chance the next morning. After acclimating and working-in/stretching-out the strings, it's held its tuning and let me move on to notice its other attributes - deep, rich tone, much closer to classical guitar than baritone uke"¦ excellent action and intonation"¦ reliable machines"¦ accurate, convenient onboard tuner"¦ excellent pickup fidelity and controls. At 30" and with a slightly arched back, its tone and sustain are pretty mind-blowing. If you're okay with nylon strings, you can't go wrong.
Because it has a truss rod (tool is provided), it can withstand the tension of extra light gauge steel strings, but I have not tried that. Even though I am mostly an electric guitar player, I am glad I didn't go with a piccolo guitar or backpacker solely so that I could have a small steel string instrument.
I should also note that it's well-balanced and much easier to hold than a Martin Backpacker. And it comes with the perfect strap for its size & weight. Initially, I was so disappointed at first, but now I'm in awe of this incredibly inexpensive, high quality instrument.

Sounds, looks and plays great! Built in tuner works great too. Intonation is a little off and the jack works erratically. But amazing instrument for the price!

This Guitalele is great I love it is lots a fun playing it very beautiful well made for price you can't beat this price

I needed something small and this is the right size for me. Looks nice and has a nice mellow sound.
However, one of the worm gears became gummed up with copper from the gear it mates with.
I've returned it for a replacement.
