This is a well made, quality product. We have two chinchillas, and they both enjoy running on this. The larger size is great.

Investing in reacurring and raising pets with a quality of life that is relevant to the actual natral instincts, development or reversing neuromuscular and ortho pedic poor muscle and other memory behavior other wise intended to save money and or have with features that have no relevance to the endangered species government watch list for its role to vigilantly use a manadorty reporting and or other tip line for those exploring this precious protected type of exotic and or any pet ! Unimaginable to expect any thing less than what's in the best interest over all anc authenticity for our young male character . Arriving to a local pet land sick and with his "far to young brother" having to be be in isolation and transported on tax payers or gov watch requirements to expensive exotic medical services would be even more reason to invest and patronize the certified registered craftsmanship and sellers in order to root out anc expose the greed and materialism's having nothing to do witv any form of life on an hierarchy of needs or in nature The costs may be ideal for incentives and affordability by discounts offered in purchasing "EDUCATIONAL" Amazon forms of information on the caring for the chinchilla or any other substitution that the consumer interested enough to be informed of the same for our human primates the health longevity expected is ideally serviced ny having only backed and certified by accountable regulatory resources and registering the sales of the sustaining of life and its quality products to have options to be informed of any recalls . Not existent ? If so then will be passionate while tenaciously not giving up
Until legislation of most important living of this world that makes it possible for those who function in it to protect the cruelty and misguided or perhaps false prophets of sales on Lina or face book advertised where I've trusted once stepping foot into a horrendous disposable our in the boob docks or not ...exotic hollanx lop ear likely non registered by the internal revenue And up faded rulings in 2019 breeders ( or pseudo and many are meticulously of regulations and American compliant not evading taxation's and or audits as requiring more awareness for the opinion and reason this bunny sold was so sick and heart attack before I could get to exotic vet of which these living domestics are being shipped sold and to the public with our instructions or clearance of any sort and infectious disease control wit its identifying transferable virus and bacterial diseases between the non human host to the innocent public's safety and homes of loving anc desiring owners who invest in the unknown and false trust given lose the checks and balance we are losing valuable domestics for clinical human benefits and therapeutic for community circumstances as killing of 130-180 for a small coat to those with our awareness at ads human and here for the non humans who have made it possible to do so im many ways . This iwheek was a burden cost to the addition resources for the chosen caregiver by the selecting process in retain locations of our domestic pets who offer wise are sent or to die a painful fall or chronic illness and or neglect . I managed to discern the science and ergo metrics to the fact affording nor r have this wheel defeats the honor to have a pet includinv an endangered critter most sweet tenacious even fragile type : tha domestic chinchilla

This wheel is perfect size for chinchillas and easy to install. My chins took a few days to a week or more to figure out how to use it, so just be patient and they'll figure it out. They are funny to watch when running in the wheel!
It was super quiet at first but became slightly noisier after a few months. Tightening the bearing nut solved that problem easily. This wheel also comes with an extra bearing which is nice to have if ever needed.

[UPDATE] Still no problems with the wheel itself but I wish they made a better bearing. I replace mine roughly every 6 months, but to be fair I have 3 chins who use it a ton. Fortunately the bearings are found online and are easy enough to replace, just wished they would last longer.
Also, if you have a Critter or Ferret Nation cage, be sure to mount the wheel on the side of the cage. The shorter wire length provides a more stable surface to mount the wheel to. Mounting it to the longer back side will result in too much flex and bust the wires from the edge of the cage.

The media could not be loaded. We were not sure if we would have to adjust the actual brace for the wheel to fit our standard ferret nation cage.

It does fit well, is very stable, is very quiet, and can get going quite fast but has enough friction to slow properly as well (not a flywheel lol)

Our chinchilla loves it, she uses it all the time and the large width allowed her to learn to use it without any wipeouts.

My ONLY complaint with the product is that at this price point, I would have assumed a simple hex key would have come with the wheel to adjust the brace itself.

This is a high priced product but it is well worth the investment if you are looking for a safe, easy to learn, stable, and quiet wheel.

This is the 2nd sealed ball-bearing Chinchilla wheel we have purchased over the past year. The 1st from another well-known manufacturer, failed a bearing in the first three months. No fault of theirs and it was replaced but the design of the wheel lends to the bearing carrying the load too far out and I believe this will be a recurring problem.
I only say that because this wheel is exceptionally built and very well engineered. The bearing supports the load evenly since the bearing is recessed into the center of the wooden wheel. It is also secured well to the cage with FOUR anchor points that can all be tightened down with the provided wingnuts and over-sized washers. This makes the wheel very quiet so all you really hear is the noise from cage vibration and the critter running on it.
The running surface of this wheel is almost twice as wide as our other one, which means as our Chinchilla gets up to full speed, she doesn't get thrown off like she did before.
The only change I made was to purchase fender washers that were a bit larger in diameter. Our cage has 1" bar spacing and the washers provided are 1 1/2" across. As the wheel supports rested on the bars in our cage, there was not enough overlap to catch two bars with the washers. I purchased 4 x 1/4" x 2" OD fender washers and it really tightened up the mounting to our cage.
Did I forget to mention the wheel comes with 2 extra bearings in the event your critter runs non-stop and wears one out? What a great customer service consideration!
A little pricey but well worth it as it is more safe than anything else we have found and better built for the marathon runners!!
