This speaker is really tiny so space for it is not a problem. It certainly can get loud though! The volume is controlled by the device it is attached to so be prepared to turn it down. The bass isn't the greatest but it's so small I expected that. It works great on my laptop but couldn't get much sound out of it on my phone but I realize the problem might be with the phone. I'll have to do a little experimenting with that. I also bought an extension cord for it because it plugs directly into the laptop and just hangs there and I envisioned it getting knocked out since it is right where my hand rests when I type. Best to move it away from my crazy hand.

It would have been nice if they included instructions with the speaker. In the description it says red is charging and off means charged but why not give instructions with that information? Otherwise I like this speaker so far. It really helps when watching videos on my phone.

The speakers in my HP elitebook combination small laptop/Tablet device are very weak by design. Small and "edge/bottom fired. Needed audio boost for my device, but didn't want anything huge, and I was not concerned with having "stereo" as much as just being able to hear audiobooks, audio editing, etc.
This little speaker was designed to even if the audio jack is on a very thin device that sits on a table, it's likely to fit into the jack and not cause an issue with how the device sits. I had concerns, but it worked beautifully. Users would not want any weight to be on the speaker itself or risk breaking both the jack in the device and the plug built onto the speaker. This speaker fit fine even though the jack is in the bottom half of the small laptop's body. (see picture.)
Also tried on my LG-v20 phone. Lends much volume.
Audio-wise it's not exceptionally wide ranged due to it's size, but..if you want crisp, distinct audio for audiobooks, or you don't mind mono sound from a decent speaker that exceeds what a teeny-tiny built-in speakers do, this seems fine. Cannot address run-time yet, but it did charge quickly for it's initial "top off." It definitely lends plenty of volume for near-device listening.
Build is average to good, and if cared-for should be fine for quite some time.
