I've been using the non-polyzone version of this for years and absolutely love it. It's essentially oderless and keeps on working for at least a couple of months. It is not designed to kill on contact. It dries and leaves an invisible coating which insects pick up while they crawl around, and eventually die off. It's not uncommon to see dead bugs laying around weeks after applying this stuff.
My original use for this was to control elder box bugs that made their way into our home for the winter. The following year we sprayed the side of the house with this (using a diluted solution with a garden hose sprayer) and we never saw them again. Since then we have used this indoors in our basement, and various other areas to control spiders and ants. It's been great and costs a lot less than having exterminators come in and use the same product.
The nice thing about this version is that it's more water resistant so it will hold up better with moisture.

We live in California, every summer ants would find their way into our home, no matter what I tried spraying we would have ants enter our home. We tried the generic bayer terro, melathon. Nothing seemed to help. I sprayed this a week ago; along the perimeter of the home, and all the paved surfaces aswell as along the fence line where I suspect their trail would start from. These ant trails were atleast 1" thick. A week later I have yet to see an ant inside our home!! Or anywhere in our yard or fence line. I'm addition to that I am finding dead cockroaches and spiders everywhere. This stuff works amazing. Follow the directions and it'll work just fine.
