This is just what I wanted but the bridge where you place your nose is wide and messes with the Left/Right eye measurements. I had a tendency to push the ruler away from the hand that held it so I ended up taking multiple measurements while switching between hands and averaging the results. Perhaps a more triangular (less round) nose bridge would have reduced the variation?

I also used a telephoto lens at 7 meter distance to take pictures and measure the PD's. In the photos you can see more easily when the ruler is being pushed to one side or the other.

Your pupillary distance is conveniently left OFF eyeglasses prescriptions so that without that measurement you can't buy glasses on-line. I went into the conveniently located optician store connected to the MD office got a $700 quote, and decided to check out glasses on line. I had the script but not the PD. I called the "”"”-"˜n optician and asked her for my PD. She said , "We can't give that out." I said ,"Why not?" She said, "We just don't. ". And that is the same story most places. This is a tool that can be used by the individual alone or help by someone else if your vision will not allow you to accurately measure the PD. So easy to use, just put the oval part on your nose, the line should be right in the center of the pupil. Turn it around, lay it on your nose, and measure the pupil of the other eye. That is all there is to it.
