Good Overall

Great quality product but the recycle bin is a bit small and fills up quickly in our house. I would have purchased a larger unit however, this one is a perfect fit in the kitchen space. I definitely recommend.
Very well thought out. I'm really impressed with this trash can.

I've only had this for 2 weeks but I'm really liking it. The measurements from the description are spot-on. The shipping packaging around it was awesome, but it did have a tiny dent on the top, probably from the pail shifting in transit (no packing inside the can) but I'm keeping it anyway. Many reviews say it's small, but it's really pretty big. We are a 2 adult household. We don't drink sodas or milk (not much plastic or soda cans), and not much prepared foods or fast foods... maybe that will give you an idea what our kitchen garbage can be. This can will hold a week of garbage and a week of recycle items with some room to spare. When I throw away an item on either side, the foot controlled lid is slow to close so I've found that I can toss stuff in there and it's NEVER hit the floor instead! Also the totally flat surface comes in handy from time to time! Another nice feature ... I can take the garbage side and the recycle side outside at the same time since the recycle side has a pail handle! And since neither side is huge (garbage side takes an 8 gallon bag perfectly and you can't see it when the lid is shut) I'm not straining my back to carry it. The lid lock is handy when I'm removing the pails... don't have to touch the lids. Lastly it looks so CLEAN and functional. I think this is totally worth the price. Since I figure 60 bags will last me over a year at the rate I empty this can I splurged and bought these on Amazon for $18 ... OKKEAI Trash Bags 8 Gallon Biodegradable Garbage Bags Thicker 0.98 MIL Compost Bags Wastebasket Liners for Kitchen Office, Lawn,Bathroom,60 Count (Fits 7-10 Gallon Bins). They fit perfectly, the color matches the recycle side (OCD wife and even she will admit it) and I feel good about my little contribution to our planet.
Good Garbage Bin

I've had this 36L+24L garbage for some months now and it has been performing well so far. The lock feature works when you need to keep the lid up. The footstep part works without fail and the garbage closes quietly without making a slamming sound. It is fairly easy to clean. The inside has little crevices that can make it a little harder to clean, but overall it is manageable. It has handles on both sides of the exterior, which are useful when moving the garbage bin around.
Con: One thing that I have noticed that might be helpful to know for others is that the metal handle that is attached to the 24L bin protrudes on both sides. I attached a picture showing this. This can cause the bag to be ripped by the garbage can when taking it out to replace it. So, you may want to be careful when replacing the bag. I typically use hefty 13g recycle bags and they get ripped sometimes by the smaller bin's handle. This issue tends to increase if the bag being taken out is fuller. Also, it appears that you cannot remove the handle, so that is something to keep in mind.

Worth the splurge! But also easy to overload in my opinion.

The media could not be loaded. As an adult that was well past the age that hanging a trash bag off a drawer was even remotely acceptable, and having no good place for my la croix and Diet Coke cans like the basic b I am. I finally set out to find a proper trash can.
I was LOSING MY MIND over finding a trash can that was up to my unjustly bourgeois standards but wouldn't cost $40000000000000 dollars"¦looking at you Simplehuman"¦ sidebar, why are trash cans so expensive? Like I'm in the wrong field, I need that TRASH CAN MONEY HONAAYYYY!
I digress"¦ I was still annoyed at how much it cost but it was what I wanted: a cute, covered place for my trash, and cans/bottles! So I bowed down to to the machine that is consumerism and bought it! Boy oh boy am I happy I took a chance on this shiny hunk of metal and plastic!!
Pros:
I have never wiped finger prints off of it since I bought it months ago
Keeps gross smells in (for the most part) and my pup out
Well made, sturdy
Keeps my cans and trash organized
Lock feature works like a charm"¦ unless you get pepper seeds in it and don't notice until you're making a review video"¦ ahem
Step lever is sturdy, smooth close is Barry white smooth, and the bins are easy to take out!
Cons:
TLDR: easy to overload, therefore can't use compostable trash bags. That's more the eco trash bags' problem though.
The trash bin is tall and and not super wide, comparatively. Which means it can be somewhat easy to overload, or shove trash in too tightly, which then makes it hard to pull the bag out and can causes the bag to rip.
So You can't be totally lazy and just keep shoving the trash down and compacting it. I'd say low to moderate shoving down/laziness is okay.
Also due to the dimensions, heftier trash bags are needed, in my opinion. Because the diameter of the apex of the weight of the trash is smaller, and therefore creates more concentrated force"¦. Rather than shorter fatter trash cans that more evenly distribute the weight/pressure on the bag and causes less ripping. Think of trying to poking a hole with a needle versus a baseball bat"¦.. ya know?
Which leads me to another con: I can't use my eco friendly bags bc they are too thin, nor can I put more in the trash to cut down on the amount of bags I use, so I am bummed in that department bc if I can't gloat about my compostable trash bags, who even am I? But really that's the eco trash bags' problem.
Alright so anyway"¦. Besides that last bit"¦ 1000% recommend this cute, well built, bougie on a budget trash can!
(Even though it may or may not want to see the earth burn. Like"¦ idk.. but I'm just sayin'! I think it has good intentions and has a good heart but definitely shady in that department. Would not trust at a Phish concert.)

Beautiful, durable, and well-sealed trash can
jinchengzhang✓ Verified Purchase•December 30, 2023
This trash can is high-end when placed in the kitchen. The stainless steel surface is easy to clean, and the interior space is ample. The most important thing is that it is well-sealed and of good quality! I will buy another small one and put it in my daughter's room.
