My dog stopped pulling so much I thought the harness was too tight.
Avidaa✓ Verified Purchase•October 8, 2023
I purchased the ThinkPet No Pull Harness Breathable Sport Harness with Handle-Dog Harnesses to replace a well used two clip, strap type, harness. I intended to purchase a large harness size since HiJack's measurements were at the limit of a medium size but by mistake ordered a medium size. During the first walk (he walks/runs while I ride a bicycle) with the new harness, HiJack pulled so little that I thought the harness was too tight and was restricting his breathing. I now believe that using the top D-link instead of the front one is what produced the change (old harness did not have a top D-link). I love the reflective stitching as we have been taking our evening walks later because of the heat. I also love the pouch to keep dog tags quite. HiJack now appears to be very comfortable in the harness and does not seem to overheat faster than when using the strap type harness. The reason I did not give 5 stars throughout is because I have to remove the bike walk leash to attach the (longer) woods walk leash because the upper D-link is too small (good thing this harness has a handle!) and I'm afraid the smaller anchor for the D-link will wear out faster. But it has has survived a week and has been tested several times daily when HiJack spots a varmint during our morning woods walks.
Great harness, except anti-pull front loop

Value for money is great.
Ease of use is great -- though can be tricky to tighten and loosen.
Color and reflectors are great.
Durability and breathability are great, especially for hot and humid summers.
My dog is right at 25 pounds so finding a harness that fits her properly in all the spots has been tricky, and this one was perfect for both neck/shoulders and around the middle/chest.
Back loop clip works as expected.
Front loop clip to prevent pulling doesn't work great. It causes the whole harness to move and twist when she runs after something and then is redirected by the front loop. Genuinely nervous to use it in case our dog manages to slip out of it. Due to the way it twists and slips, doesn't quite matter how tight it is, if she just pulled back a couple times, she could probably slip out.

Really sturdy and highly reflective!

MY DOG AND SIZING:
I got my puppy suddenly and just bought him a cheap harness at first until I had time to research them and get him a better one. I ended up settling on this as the better one. He is a beagle mix, about 12-14 weeks old, and under 20 lbs. The small fits him well on a tight setting with plenty of room to grow! He might need the medium by the time he is an adult, but the small might work for that as well. It seems a bit too long for him, but I think he will grow into it nicely.
COLOR AND SAFETY:
I was a little bummed that the orange harness in the picture looks like a beautiful rusty fall color but in reality it is more of a neon/construction/safety cone orange. Though neon is better for visibility so I guess that's good. Speaking of visibility, the reflective piping on this really works well! I included two pictures I took of him at night in a dark room with the flash on, so I don't think anyone will have a hard time seeing him in their headlights at night.
COMFORT AND DURABILITY:
The fabric is very stiff and thick, which seems to really aid in the durability department. I've also already had to use the handle several times to pick him up suddenly when he is eating something off the sidewalk that he shouldn't be, like for example, a full cigarette >.
One of the reasons I bought this is because it is padded under his arm pits while most other harnesses are just a thin strap that digs in and chafes if they are still leash training. Since he is a scent dog, leash training is going to take a while and I need to keep him on a short, high leash so he doesn't try to clothesline himself. I feel like he is much safer and more comfortable in a harness like this. It also straps in easily to car seats and I feel like the thick padded vest will help distribute the shock should we get into a car accident and should keep his bones and joints safer than a thin harness or flat neck collar.
There are two very heavy duty metal rings, 1 on the back and 1 on the chest, and I feel confident that my leash would give out before the rings do. The buckles also seem heavy duty (plastic, not metal) and they are a bit bulky, which seems uncomfortable, but again he doesn't seem to mind them.
EASE OF USE:
You do have to go over their face and head with this one, which he doesn't mind but some dogs might. It is also a HUGE PAIN to adjust the size of the straps, especially since it kind of needs to be adjusted with him in it and he is a squirmy hyper puppy. It took fiddling with it a couple times over 2 days before it fit him well, but it was worth it because unlike other harnesses, his wiggling and movement doesn't loosen the straps so I know he won't be able to wiggle his way out of it.
The old harness had straps that could hang down after adjusting which he would chew on but with these the straps don't dangle, even though it is practically on the tightest setting.
SHOULD YOU BUY IT?:
I can't speak directly for large dogs who might jump, lunge, or pull but if the quality and durability is the same throughout the sizes, I think this is one of the best harnesses you could buy for under $65. I had a Boxer/Pit/German Sheppard mix before and I think this would do nicely for a dog like that as well. I also really like the handle but wish it was oriented running the length of the spine and not horizontally. If you're worried about nighttime safety, I would also really recommend this!
If you are looking for something very comfortable for a lazy lapdog or a toy breed who doesn't need much leash training, then this harness is probably way overkill. I would look for something much lighter, more breathable, and easy to get on and off. But if you have a big dog, a hyper puppy, are hiking or doing other outdoor activities a lot, need help with leash training, need to pull them by the handle, etc. then this is the best affordable harness I've come by!

Secure fit handy handle!

Our Schipperke mix could quickly, easily, and dangerously slip out of his previous other-brand harness so I got this one in hopes that he would not be able to slip out of it (when scared by trucks, etc.). We've been using it for a few months and it's been performing flawlessly in that regard. Despite his attempts he cannot slip out of this harness. It's a bit bulky on such a small dog but fits securely and feels very durable. It's easy to get on and off. Not so easy to adjust but I got it done. He does slip a leg out when he curls his legs in to nap so it requires an occasional adjustment when we leave it on him in the house or car. This may be avoided if we tightened it up a bit but I like a looser comfy fit so I haven't tightened it up. I wish the reflective material "popped" more in the dark when light shines on it. Very satisfied. Thank you!
As Advertised.

It was a little big for my girl but appears to be as advertised. I'm sure I will be happy once I get to use it.
