first time purchasing and using a gauge set to do a diagnostic check for my friend's A/C system in the nissan versa. We were a bit overwhelmed looking at all the small parts of this set, but after watching a bunch of videos online and we tried it out ourselves along with the moral support of s/o. It was pretty easy"¦ and it was reassuring to know that there were no leaks in A/C system. He mentioned that he will need this next time to add 134A into the car.

Descent kit. Dosent fit vacume pump need an adaptwr. Ok set not vedy sturdy. But good for a once in awhile repairs NOT. Everyday use

Got this to replace those can mounted units whose accuracy is questionable. Easy to use, check your cars requirements before adding freon. Many sites on YouTube to find any info you may need.

It came with laminated instructions, though first-timers would want to watch a video.
I don't mind converting Celsius to Fahrenheit and vice versa. Just convert a few 5-degree intervals and eyeball the intermediate values.
I was initially puzzled about how to connect the universal can-piercing adapter to the can, but got it to work just fine after noticing the adjustable threads. It did work with a self-sealing can. I don't think I even needed to use the inexpensive adapter that my older can-tap required.

I have had this manifold gauge set for about a month now and used it for 3 home mechanic jobs. I am not an automotive repair professional, but I maintain 9 vehicles in my family and often must address A/C issues. The auto parts store "tool rental" program is great in many instances, but my experience with their gauge set is that there is always some seal issue (because some customers mistreat them or misplace the original parts).

I opted to purchase this set, and I am completely satisfied after working on 2 Saturn IONs, a Jeep Liberty and a Nissan Murano. The set seals well and does exactly as it should. It is marketed at a reasonable value for a home or shade tree mechanic that does not want to spend $300 for a set to use occasionally. Professionals may take issue with this set, but I submit that with upgraded seals it would hold up to constant use with little reason for complaint.
