I'm a first time skier and I thought these bibs were pretty great with one exception: they definitely absorbed a lot of moisture from my base layer, and held it, resulting in a damp chilly feel by the end of the day. I don't think that that's supposed to happen, but I'm a heavy sweater so I can't say for sure. Regardless, they kept me warm at 7F and I'm overall very pleased. For winter sports, I'd probably recommend something designed not to absorb moisture from the wearer.
