This set is for sure not the original all metal one, but we are ok w that. For what it's worth - this set seems less likely to somehow injure someone w flying parts as noted in other set reviews. The only metal pc is the one in the middle once assembled - the other two are plastic. As you can see in the pic, the bottom of the blue pc - bottom of blade, is rounded too, not as pointed as the authentic original blades, so I guess less likely to injure hopefully. Also, these don't come apart at all during "battle", they just stop spinning. I don't know a ton about BeyBlades, but I'm going to guess that these are less expensive knock offs bc they are for sure made of mostly plastic components. They don't seem like they will last as long as the all metal sets we've seen, but considering how quickly kids seem to jump from toy fad to toy fad - that's not a big deal for us.

This was a 7th birthday present for my girlfriend's son and he absolutely loves the set.
The arena could be better made. The plastic is thin and I doubt it will last a year. That said, the 2 Bey Blades and launchers are worth the price of the set. There have been no issues with the blades not locking into the launchers as some have stated (they're likely inserting the rip cord into the wrong slot which will not allow the blade to lock in properly). All around very pleased.

This was our first venture into beyblades. My son has seen it but never really played. There was a great prime day deal so I just bought it on a whim. It's fun but there's definitely a learning curve. You have to make sure you're spinning the right way. You have to set it up right. Honestly, we only figured it out after my husband watched many YouTube videos. But after that we played together for a good hour and now the kids (my husband) wants more!
