I love that this footstool has a secret compartment on the bottom for hiding things. It's lower than most but handy. It would be perfect to have around for toddlers to sit on.

I like to sit on my sofa with my knees raised slightly to take the pressure off my lower back. I bought a power recliner sofa to help but it's uncomfortable to do anything reclined except sleep and getting up was a process. Ottomans were too high and again made it hard to get up. Wooden/metal stools were too hard. A few upholstered stools had hard edges or were a thin padding over a hard surface so my feet were basically on an rock. And lots of them were plain ugly. This stool is just perfect. It's the right height to get my knees on a standard sofa at the right angle, firm enough to keep my feet from slipping, padded enough to be comfortable without shoes, and sturdy enough that my grandkids can sit on it without breaking. And it's not some 1970's leftover fabric but a pretty classic design. I'm a woman 5'5" tall.

The only drawback was that the color did not match the navy recliner that I have. It close enough. For assembly, all you have to do is screw in the four feet and put put the fuzzy circular pads on the bottom of the feet. Done. It is just the right height to get your feet off the floor without raising them above the level of your hips.
