Doing a lot of woodworking, finding a center line on the edge of a board is frequently needed. Instead of measuring and marking spots and connecting the dots, I thought this would make it easier. Maybe I need to rethink how I use it, but intuitively I just inserted a standard #2 pencil and tested it out. It's difficult to keep a sharpened pencil in the center, it tends to drift, and keeping the scriber straight while holding the pencil proved to be difficult. It can be super challenging if you are also attempting to hold the board. Like I said I probably need to just adjust the way I am using the product.

I hate math. I use my adjustable square thing to try to get as close as I can to center, but it always seems slightly off and takes a few fine adjustment to get it right. With this tool it literally takes seconds and I wish I had this in my Arsenal of tools sooner. The one thing I didn't notice at first which comes in handy is in one of the pegs there's a magnet so you can stick it to metal surfaces. They thickness gauge on the side is also a nice touch.
