i thought id get better reception. i can't get the weather station that well with this antenna. Update.. the antennas come with a rubber gasket. I removed it from the contact between antenna and radio and it now works.

Nothing much to say except it works but is a bit overrated. If all you care about is looks and your going for the tacticool thing it fits the bill. Construction is good. Reception seems to be the same as say a Nagoya. I don't really use this antenna anymore after the cool factor wore off after a few days. I just use Nagoya 771 antennas on all my handheld radios now.

A bit of a novelty but it does boost range, so it is a good buy for me. It will help my ARES work. Quality is good, but not spectacular. Size is unwieldy, but it kind of has to be.
