Expensive for what you get but if you are a fan of the movie, a nice thing to have. Buy voice recorder and search internet for HAL's quotes from the movie to make this model special!
Only use Elmer's white glue to put the lenses into place. Most other glues will fog the lenses.

Great kit. Easy build. Lenses are nice and free of inclusions or air bubbles. Only complaints are that there is a tab on the outer lense mount that needs to be removed before painting that isn't mentioned in the instructions and the holes in the speaker plate aren't drilled out. Would also be great if the kit came with a back plate to make it easy to mount on the wall without modification. Would also be nice if the led were a little brighter and had a pulse mode.

This model needs to be painted of course.make certain that you use paints that work well with the type of plastic that it is made of. Also, when gluing the lenses, use the adhesive that is recommended for gluing on model airplane canopies. It will dry clear. I actually built this with a back box so that I could put a Google home mini inside of it. This way I can have the HAL 9000 be my Google home interface.

Very realistic looking kit but you do have to paint and assemble and the stickers are not well cut. If you good with your hands it won't be a problem.

Great model for any fan of the movie, a bit pricey but worth the money, great quality decals included and with an included LED only gripe was molding on one piece of the lens holder has mold injection remnant what's needed to be cut and sanded, and to acrylic lenses that are included come with a small piece that also needs to be cut and sanded watch fogged the acrylic itself there is no way around it. But overall happy with the price considering most replicas are in the hundreds if not thousands of dollars this is an affordable option
