This is an amazing tool, I'm really impressed with the simplicity of the tool, and I just use it with a sandpaper on a smooth straight table and it works better than using a sharpening stone.

Nice tool, but duel would make it more stable and in order to sharpen a 1/4" chisel a spacer was necessary to keep the blade secure. Overall, a very nice tool for sharping chisel and planer blades.

Excellent product.. was able to sharpen a totally messed up wood chisel to a condition better than it was bought. Was able to get a perfect angle and was consistent. No errors. I used a diamond coated sharpening stone first 360 grit, then 600 grit, then used a 1000 grit stone and then 6000 grit stone. Finally used a Woodstock paste on a plywood board to bring a mirror finish.
An improvement for the above process will be to use a belt sander to build the face angle and then use the rest of the above process starting g from the diamond stone so you don't have to spend a lot of time on the diamond stone.
