I purchased these to attach to my dogs' leashes for clipping them to various things. They're light enough to attach to my hip for hiking, and strong enough to withstand a rambunctious German Shepherd when clipped to anything else. The one downside is heavy scratching in the black paint with only a week's worth of use, but it doesn't affect the function at all.

Great carabiner for a backpack

I am using this on my backpack to hook up my water bottle to my pack. It seems like it is a sturdy carabiner at 16KN, most the others I found were 12KN in strength. Not sure if you need anything this strong as a backpack carabiner but it is nice to know it is stronger than most the others I found.
