Once upon a time, as I was using my embroidery machine to quilt a quilt, I heard a less than pleasant noise. I was using my plastic with screw hoop. My experience with that hoop: first I got the screw jammed and had to take it in to get fixed. Then as I was loosening the screw, I unscrewed too much and the screw fell out. That took some time to get the screw back to where it belonged"¦.. lastly what happened when I heard the unpleasant noise"¦. The hoop had popped off.
I was so excited when my Monster hoop arrived. I finished the quilt with absolutely no more hoop issues. I LOVE this product and recommend it everyone with an embroidery machine!

So happy with my DIME hoop now that they sent me a replacement for the lower hoop. I had a great deal of trouble getting the hoop in and out of the machine. I stated why I was unhappy with the product initially to DIME and they promptly sent a new lower hoop. Love it! Thank you so much, DIME. I've done two quilts and could not be happier.

I was surprised to find this hoop at a decent price here on Amazon. I had bought the 9.5 x 14" hoop first, and it was just about the same price as this 10.5 x 16" one. You do need to be careful, because you can really hurt your fingers if they get caught between the top and bottom, but they work really well. I've heard people say they don't hold well and quilts or fabric can 'slip' in the hoop, leading to an embroidery that comes out off-registration... but that has not been my experience. I really like the Monster Hoops!
