I thought these were freeze dried buy they are dehydrated which doesn't retain vitamins and such; looses 85% in the process whereas, freeze dried locks it all in. I've been storing up freeze dried food for the days of famine. These I will eat now in oatmeal or make apple bread, etc. A very good value for the size. Shipping was fast.

Each year at Christmas time I make Schnitz-Brot, a German bread recipe handed down through several generations. The bread of many spices contains dried fruit, with dried apples being the featured fruit. To have the apples already dried and diced was a real game changer for me.
