We needed to remove the damaged, original tile from the bathroom of our vintage house. We wanted to keep with the original checkerboard pattern. It turned out to be impossible to find black floor tiles smaller than 12 inches which would have been too big for such a small bathroom. Fortunately I found these. I was a little uncertain as the description said something about distressed appearance. I wanted classic, not distressed. However, we were on a deadline with no other choices. I figured I could always return them. Turns out they're beautiful. The installer said they're good quality. Also, because the tile are actually pretty big they were better to use on our floor that wasn't perfectly level.
