I loved this item until the automatic shut off on it kept shutting it down and I couldn't get it to come back on!!! If I could return it I would! I cannot believe the 5 stars it's received! It's garbage and from what I am reading it is just not me that is having this problem!

It is now 2 weeks later and I want to change my review from one to five stars. I contacted the Doss company and they couldn't have been nicer! With information from me about what was happening with my speaker, they told me how much they wanted their customers to be happy with their product and would replace it if it couldn't be corrected. So I gave them some important information about what was happening and they are now sending me a replacement since this product comes with a one year warranty. So I couldn't be happier and so pleased with how they treat their customers and stand behind their products.

I bought this for my deck. I love to play soothing music when my family gathers around our firepit dining table.
We don't go out to dinner much, so we've created a few outdoor spaces for our grown children when they come to hang out.
I love how portable this is.
We have outdoor movie nights in the summer. We use this as one of two speakers. I position this behind the group, for a surround sound experience.
I also love to use it indoors when we are baking for holidays or when my husband and I are alone and have a romantic dinner together.
And my husband takes it to the garage when he's working on cars.
We take it to the front porch, the back deck, the family room, the dining room, the garage and the back yard when we host a bonfire party.
I left it outside one night and the next morning, saw it had rained. I tossed it into a bag of instant rice and left it there for the day.
Played just fine that night and hasn't had a problem in the four months since.
Nice sound for the informal and casual uses.
Oh, I also once took it out when I drove my girlfriends around for a wine tasting day in my convertible. My car stereo was fritzing that day and needed replacing, so I grabbed this and it was our sound for the day.

First "¦ I would reconsider buying this speaker. The price is it's most attractive feature"¦ the sound is decent up until a certain volume and then it flattens out and sounds like mess. So if you're looking for some low volume back ground sounds this will probably work out. The other main reason I've given it such a bad review is the quality of the materials. The volume and speaker selector options are very sensitive as they require very little pressure to make adjustments. The biggest problem with this speaker is the charging port. It is a cheap plastic port that won't take many plug in's, the port itself is cheaply made and eventually will break and fall into the speaker, making it impossible to charge the speaker without trying to take it apart. Unless you're going to leave it plugged in all the time I'd consider spending a little more money on another selection. You get what you pay for ..

Light weight. Ease-of-use. Sounds good.
