Needed a planer for a 4x4 fence post. The old fence post rotted out and left a nice concrete cast. My goal was to replace 4x4 with pressure treated post. However new post dimensions were too big for hole. I wanted something inexpensive and wanted it quickly. Went on Amazon and found this planer for under $20 and it had Same Day Delivery. I found another item that I needed to meet the $25 minimum order value for Free Same Day and these planer arrived a few hours later. I spent maybe 30 minutes shaving 15 inches of post on 4 sides. The planer did a great job on the pressure treated Douglass fir including hard 1.5" knots. The planer is a heavy chunk of metal. It produced a flat surface. The adjusters work... Not as nice as expensive upgrade planers, but for an inexpensive tool deliver on your doorstep on the same day, this worked well.
I wish I would’ve had one a long time ago

Professionally, I'm in engineer. At home I do a lot of renovations. My professional life set me up for a lot of disappointment as I work on things and realize they are not straight or square.
This little guy has become my favorite new tool for taking the kinks out of studs are, and I've even used it to plane off paint or spackling to make a smooth transition between different wall materials. I know it's not right I know it's obsessive, but it makes me feel good.
It's easy to adjust. It works well and it was an expensive. There are probably fancier versions of this out there, but this checked all the boxes for me.
