Good bits first:

So far, once I got the remote working, everything is great. Amazon asked me to rate "sheerness" not sure what they mean as I didn't want a sheer. But, this has a nice translucence while blocking the bright sun. Operation is smooth, and it is easy to add set points.

Obviously, for the price it can't be beat in the market currently.

Now, some thoughts. This is not a "don't buy this" review, more like "keep this in mind and read the description carefully."

The SMART motor only works with certain Alexa devices - check the description. I don't have Alexa but thought I needed the SMART motor to do any home automation integration. You actually don't, for most home automation you are going to need a separate hub.

The reason I recommend against the SMART right now is that there are no installation videos, etc. available yet. Maybe soon they will have one. It has a different remote that is not a generally available and easy to find remote. The REMOTE motor comes with a remote that you can find elsewhere. This was frustrating for me as I had a problem with my remote which made it very hard to do the initial sync, and I couldn't find anything online about the remote I have. Being completely fair to Yoolax they have offered to send a replacement if my problems persist, but it took me two days to diagnose and thought I might have to send back the whole thing just because of the remote.

My shade is 6 feet wide, I hung it myself but it took a lot of effort. Highly recommend if you are doing wide to have a helper present. I wasn't really thinking about the weight and had to mount this higher than I wanted in order to use more hanging brackets. My initial idea was to have the shade below the top jamb but this was dumb on my part, the shade is too heavy to only be supported at the ends with the included hardware. I guess you could custom make some brackets if you wanted to do it this way. All this to say that if you are doing an "outside mount" the only good option will be to hang above the jamb, so size accordingly.

As with all customized things that are purchased online, do your work ahead of time, don't guess and think you can adjust.

STOP, I DEARLY WANT TO bring your attention, I am not paid to write this ad, at all !
But let me tell you, from all the companies online, from the expensive blinds to the discount places, YOOLAX bluffed us , from Day one.
First I had questions, they replied to every question in no time.
Second, my windows are at 32 feet high, I did not want to spend $10000 in electricity to plug my blinds ... YOOLAX , came up with the idea to use their solar panels (sold separately), and THEY WORK !
3, we picked the grey see through, so we could keep the natural light, people can see us , and now we are protected from. the heat and cold.
Everything was delivered at the exact promessed day!
The guys who installed my blinds were amazed by the quality and took pic for future referral.
To the entire team of yoolax, you win. I am ordering my entire blinds with you, no one else. The only thing is the remotes gets here with no batteries, apparently they are forbidden by custom.
when the installer came, I wanted to try my blinds before they leave. So I rushed out to a Walgreen buy a "2450" flat find large coin type battery.

yoolax I know your booklet to explain how the blinds to Alexa is not ready and you were franck about that but I cannot wait to get it .

You made our lives easy, elegant and saved us $$$$$$$$ . I was asked by a famous company $8500 for all my windows and the new solar panels , they had to be installed only by their guys etc... when I will be done with my windows by Yoolax I will be saving $ $5500 huge huge difference.

I would like to thank one of the other customers for posting some of these directions especially dealing with resetting the motor and setting the up and down limits of the blinds. Without them, I would not have been able to program these blinds since the vendor does not have reliable troubleshooting information online and their programming instructions are lacking clear direction (to be nice!). Love the blinds now that they are working correctly. 5 star rating for the final product, 4 star overall due the difficulty in getting the blinds configured due to less than stellar instructions. I have the following components: 1 - z561 remote control, 4 - z425 motorized blinds, 1 - Amazon Echo Gen 4, 1 - Amazon Alexa App w/Yoolax Smart skill on an iPhone 11. See step by step instructions below to help with your install.

How to program the z561 remote for Motorized Yoolax Shades (Z425 Motor)

Get into setting mode - Page 14 of Smart Shades manual 58613 v1.0, 6, July, 2023

1. Select channel - I used channel 01
2. If programming multiple shades on the same channel like I did since the Group functionality was so convoluted, use the signal blocker usb-c device to block the motors of the other blinds and do each blind one at a time.
3. Hold P1 button on remote for 5-6 seconds until "nn" flashes
4. Display will go back to channel selected "01" and "nn"

Reset the Zigbee Z425 Motor (Start from scratch approach - My blinds were messed up and this is what I did to get the remote control working)

1. Get into setting mode first (see steps above)
2. Reset the motor by holding the motor pair button until it jogs 4 times - around 14-16 seconds
3. Unlock the motor by hitting the motor pair button for 1 jog - around 2 seconds
4. Pair the motor to the remote channel by pressing the P2 button on the back of the remote (if this doesn't work, try step 3 again)
5. Test the shade up or down button. If the shade direction is reversed, reverse the up/down setting direction by clicking Down Arrow and right half circle together at once - jogs x 1
6. Set open height by manually choosing open height with remote, then store setting by using Up arrow and Love buttons together - jogs x 1
7. Set closed height by manually choosing close height with remote, then store setting by using Down arrow and Love buttons together - jogs x 1
8. To finish the process, Hold P1 for 5-6 seconds or wait 3 minutes without remote use to get the remote out of settings mode.
9. Use channel 00 or 01 to open and close all shades at the same time. I currently have 4 blinds working together on Channel 00 (universal channel) or Channel 01

Make sure the the above steps are taken prior to zigbee pairing - The limits and shade direction must be set prior to zigbee programming. I used the Amazon Echo Gen 4 as my zigbee built in hub and I did get automation working using Amazon Alexa Routines for closing 4 blinds at Sunrise and opening 4 blinds 100% at Noon. I could not get the "Zoolax Home" app working using the Amazon Echo Gen 4 as a zigbee gateway or zigbee hub. Since the Amazon Alexa automation is working using "Routines", I do not need the Yoolax Home app to automate routines for coordinated blind opening and closing.

1. Make sure you search for the "Yoolax Smart" Skill from within your Amazon Alexa App, select and enable it.
2. Press and hold the pairing button on the motorized blind (z425 motor on my setup) for around 6 seconds or until the motor jogs 2x, blue pairing light starts flashing
3. Using the voice command on your amazon echo Gen 4 device, "Alexa, discover my devices. It takes a while, but Amazon Echo Gen 4 will find the new device. I believe Zigbee pairing requires the zigbee device to be within 30 feet or less of the blinds. I was only 5 feet away so I'm not sure how far away you can perform this step.
4. The Amazon Alexa App gives the blind a generic name "Blind 1", "Blind 2", "Blind 3" and "Blind 4" in my case. It takes a little time for it to show up in the "All devices" list within the Amazon Alexa app even after Amazon Echo says it found the device. I added each blind one at a time.
5. The instructions on pages 7-9 of the Smart Shades manual are mostly accurate so I will not repeat all the steps but instead offer other guidance that I encountered pairing and then programming the blinds using Amazon Alexa app on my iPhone.
6. The Yoolax Smart skill has an open function for the Z425 motorized blind called "Opening". It has a slider bar for 0-100%. In the Alexa Routines that I created, Opening of 0% actually fully opened my blinds. Opening 100% actually closes my blinds. It may be counter intuitive but it does work. It could be reversed for your setup so try both ..
7. My automation has all blinds closing automatically at Sunrise and opening all blinds automatically at 12 Noon.

I ordered and installed three of the Yoolax brand motorized blinds. They arrived as scheduled from overseas (a bit over a month). They were very easy to install with the supplied hardware. Took about 15-20 min per blind (inside mounting option). We selected the white fabric that allows a bit of the light to come through. With us living next to a lake the blinds still enable us to see what's going on outside the house but dramatically reduces the glaring sun light and heat the comes from living next to a lake.

We use both Alexa and Google for home automation control for various reasons. We have a Samsung SmartThings hub to link our appliances. And used the same hub to controll the Yoolax Blinds. It works very well. Like most hubs it takes a bit of time to configure the integration and control. But once completed, we have not had any issues. We use voice control more than the remotes that we ordered with the blinds. With that said, the remotes came preprogrammed and work flawlessly and look very good. With the remotes bright LED display they can be easily used at night.

All in all we are vey pleased with the purchase and would definitely purchase again.
