I love it, but... don't turn it up too high!

I bought this about a year ago, and I love it. it works well and quickly gets the coals going. I really do like it a lot!
Now for the but part. I never had a problem until recently when the plastic melted and the metal funnel fell off onto my deck! No damage to the deck but it's now in two pieces. Most of the other times I used it, I barely turned it on and had no problems but I turned it up to about half this time. The plastic deformed and the unit fell off the grill with the metal funnel still attached to my BGE. With the warped plastic, I now can't really figure out how to fix it! This is a similar problem that one of the 1-star reviewers noted, and my unit looks about the same as the images now, but I just want it fixed so I can use it again!
I guess the take-home message is don't run the airflow more than about halfway or you might have the same problem.

Was not sure when I bought, but . The only problem is attaching to my Big Green Egg MiniMax. You have to manipulate the draft door to get a good clamp on blower. I would like to see a part on the blower that inserts into the Draft Door opening. Once you get it attached and turned on you can walk away and the fire will be going great when you return great product.

I was going to just build myself a blower for my Big Green Egg and 3D print a housing for it, but I figured this unit cost as much as the parts to build my own I would try it out first. Well, it works great on my mini green egg and brings it up to 600° from 200° in minutes. Its kind of flimsy and Im sure the housing would crack or break if dropped, but for $20 you cant beat it. If they used a better plastic and make the battery cover better (its janky, the metal parts doesn't stay connected to the plastic and is F'n sharp) I would pay $50+ for this thing, but I subtract one star for the jankyness. i would say this is not to maintain a specific heat, but rather I use it to light the charcoal and get it up to the temp I want fast. But at $20, and your not an idiot with electronic devices, I recommend buying it.

Used it for the first time this weekend and it made a huge difference in the timeline from initial BGE light to ready to cook. This weekend's cook was a pork butt and pork ribs.
