The sides are not stiff and the top is not stiff. It's basically a tote bag in the shape of a cube. I had some cardboard so I put some around the inside and in the top to add stability and it works great like this.
Would like a version that has something hard in the sides so it protects your serger.
I have a Janome 660D and it fits very well (even with the cardboard in there)

Arrived well packaged and in appropriate time frame. Everything works as it should. I wish the bottom was a bit more sturdy but I'll add a board and it will be fine. Has plenty of room for my serger so accessories and supplies will be easily carried. As for durability, seems like it will be good but I won't know until I've used it a bit more.
