We're currently selling our house and the buyers' inspection included a radon test. They put the device in our laundry room in close proximity to both our sump pump and two kitty litter boxes. Their results came back say 4.3, not super high but still enough to be of concern. I was already not a fan of these inspectors for other reasons so was skeptical about their results. After doing some research I discovered a study showing that things like kitty litter and sump pumps can affect the accuracy of radon testing. For my own peace of mind as well as our buyers, I purchased one of these home test kits. It arrived the next day, the directions were super easy to follow. I put the test packet in a central location in our lower level den, away from windows and doors as per the instructions. I registered the rest on the website and they sent me a reminder text 48 hours later to stop the text and package it up. Shipped it off on a Friday (used small USPS flat rate box, cost about $9). Received a text a few days later stating that it was received. By Wednesday they'd sent me the results. As I suspected, their number was 3.4 pci/l. Overall this whole process was very simple and the turnaround time was super fast. I will likely buy another one for our new house!

We bought our house about 10 years ago, and it has a radon mitigation system installed. The previous owners children told us that the owner had it tested several years before, and it was borderline, but "Dad wanted to be safe." It is a finished basement, but until this year we had not used it too much. Now, with COVID we are spending a whole lot more time at home, and the basement does give us room to spread out, but we started to wonder if it was really safe. Saw this, price was right, seemed like a good way to check levels. Easy to use, fill out the form, open the package, let the box sit in your basement 48-84 hours, finish filling out form after exposure time, seal it up in enclosed envelope, and bring it to the Post office to mail off. They recommend priority mail, so that was what I did. About 10 days later we got an email from the lab saying results were in. They say that 1.3 is normal for a basement, at 2 you may want to do something, and at 4 you should do something. Ours was 1.1, with the mitigation system running (been running for over 10 years now). So the suggestion was to test again in a few years. I have no way to tell if it is accurate, if previous owners kids were honest, a 1.1 reading after installing a system seems right where it should be. So I will take their recommendation and do another test in several years.

This product was easy to use. Just set it out for the specified period of time and mail it out with the enclosed envelope.
