Well built, very easy to sight in, just a little heavier than advertised.

I own five crossbows, a Browning, a Parker, a Barnett and this CP400 is my second Centerpoint. I have been very pleased with the performance of my Centerpoint Specialist XL 370. I was looking for something a little more lightweight and compact as the XL 370 is a little heavy and bulky but otherwise performs very well. I chose the CP400 because of the size and advertised weight, 7.1 pounds, they should be advertising the weight of the bow to include all accessories, scope quiver, bolts and broadheads, instead of the bare crossbow with out accessories. That's why I only give 4 stars as actual weight is about 9.1 lbs. which still beats the nearly 13 lbs. of the specialist Xl. Over all I'm very pleased with the CP400 so far and would not change my choice given the chance, definitely quality equipment for the price!! I have been intrigued with the Ravin crossbows since they came on the market but like Tenpoint they are pricey. After hearing Centerpoint had purchased Ravin and that the CP400 sported Ravin limbs I made my choice. Very accurate and easy to dial in, 3 shots out of the box following the manuals instructions, dead on at 20 yrds. moved out to 50 yrds. dead on! Centerpoint claims you have to use their CP400 select bolts or it will void the warranty, I couldn't find any of the CP400 select bolts locally so I purchased Ravin bolts and replace their nocks with half moons and it performed flawlessly so I took a chance and tried Victory's Decimators with half moons, also performed flawlessly. Guess Centerpoint just wants you to buy theirs?? Warranty should be better than 5 year limited anyway, make it lifetime Centerpoint, show you are confident in your products and I'll buy your high dollar bolts! Not real easy to cock with rope cocking sledge but I've heard horror stories about their silent crank system?? Scope is decent which is unusual, factory scopes are usually garbage. Over all very nice quality crossbow and so far very pleased with this purchase and my other Centerpoint specialist xl will be my go to backup. Keep up the good work Centerpoint!!
It's a literal amazing crossbow

I see all these bad reviews for this crossbow but I swear this thing is amazing! It literally drills bolts through a Target I haven't used it to hunt yet but I'm looking forward to it this coming season. I took a chance on this because I saw a lot of bad reviews but those people must have gotten early models or bad models I don't know but I will tell you I have nothing bad to say about this crossbow it is a great piece of machinery and I would recommend to anyone to buy it
Genuinely capable of 100 yard shots!

This is truly a remarkable crossbow. Once I dialed it in at 20 yards I was able to make every shot in 10 yard increments all the way up to 100 yards. While I don't expect to be shooting at deer at that distance I think everything 70 yards and under is in serious trouble. Some Reviews have correctly pointed out that the trigger travel is longer than normal and the adjustable stock rattles a little bit. Both observations are true but certainly in no way a deal breaker. I really can't find anything to complain about. I love the scope which can be illuminated in both red or green and it's accuracy and quality at this price range is truly impressive. I don't know how anyone could be disappointed in this bow.
Didn't come with rope cocker
Justin Werst✓ Verified Purchase•July 5, 2023
Mine didn't come with a rope cocker. It came with 3 sleds but no cocker rope. I'm buying the orange one meant for this bow. I ended up using a regular rope cocker with the hooks until I can get the one that goes with it. Other than that no problems at all. Nothing has broke yet like some of these reviews state. And very accurate all the way out past 50yds. Great bow.
Wow

I just got my new bow Friday 6/03/2022 and spent the day on Saturday 6/4 shooting my new bow. It took about 30 minutes out of the box to put together. I sat a target up at 10 yards like the book said. It took about 4 shots to get dialed in on the bulls eye. Took the target to 20 yards and with a couple more adjustments I was back on the bullseye. I spent the rest of the day taking shots that were between 20 and 50 yards and was in the bullseye all day. The lighted calibrated scope is fantastic. You wont go wrong with this bow at this price. I did have to get the silent crank since I was unable to use the rope cocker. Did I mention I love this bow!!!!! Happy birthday to me.
