I like it very much, and it is very easy to use. It is safe for women and the elderly, and it is very helpful.

I would have liked a louder alarm, but I chose this alarm over one with 140 decibels and less expensive alarms with the 130 decibles because the battery was rechargeable, the flashlight is larger, and it has two options for setting off the alarm making it more useful. I prefer the button because I can set off the alarm with one hand. Hopefully I can also swiftly pull down on it with force with one hand to pull the pin out when it is hanging off my purse, rather than having to use two hands to pull it out. I plan to test the hard tug option. Finally, I like that the pin stays attached to the main unit when pulled out so my hands are freed up in an emergency. I have had no issue with accidentally setting off the alarm, although I hang it on my purse or belt loop on a walk, I don't put it in my purse or pocket. I utimately went back and bought one for my sister who is moving from a small Colorado town to the city in California and my daughter-in-law who often walks my grandbaby alone on popular trails and up in the mountains with my son where they might come upon aggressive wildlife. Now my sister is going to buy one for her daughter who is in on a college campus. I should have taken advantage of the mulitple discount, but I wanted to see if I liked it before purchasing for my family. A personal alarm is a tool for empowerment to be prepared, not fearful. I recommend it.
Glad I picked this one

There are quite a few personal alarms on Amazon, each with glowing reviews that all kind of sound the same (suspicious) and none older then September 2019.
I chose this one for three reasons: The alarm can be activated by either pulling a pin or pressing a button, the battery can be recharged via a USB cable and it comes with a flashlight. This one is more expensive than others but decided to give it a try and am glad I did. The alarm is LOUD, I annoyed everyone far and wide because I pushed the alarm button twice before reading the instructions (hint: you need to hold the button for a while to shut it off).
The thing is small and smooth enough to fit nicely into the palm of a hand, it can also be attached to items such as a leash or a handbag. The alarm will not go off accidentally as the pin requires a good yank and the button needs to be pushed twice to activate the alarm (not to be misunderstood: to activate you need either yank the pin or push the button twice, you do NOT need to yank the pin AND push the button).
The pin does not detach from the device so can't get lost and you can not yank the pin and push it back in to shut the alarm off when the alarm was activated by double-clicking the button, which I think is a nice additional safety feature (you know how to de-activate the alarm but the person attacking you will not). The flashlight is handy for finding key holes and can be set to flashing mode.
It's a nice, sturdy little thing that I hope I will never have to actually use, but it sure provides peace of mind.

Annoying And Easy To Setoff Accidentally.

I hate the thing just because I have accidently set the thing off more times than I can count since I got it. It can be embarrassing and will give you anxiety trying to get it to shut up. These desperately need a cover over the button like mace does to avoid the accidental setting off of it.
Good

Not extremely loud but hope it will suffice.
Also when you press the sos button accidentally which happens because it's so large you need to scramble for 3 seconds to turn it off.
Good to have than nothing so got for the price to give to some lady work colleagues
