My parents had some of these many years ago and I always thought they'd be a really useful item. And they are. They aren't made of metal, just plastic or cardboard, but they're very nice looking and can easily handle the weight of my glasses. When you first unwrap them they have a pretty strong smell. I left them sitting on the front porch for a day or 2 and that cured the smell. I'm very pleased with them and no more swiping my glasses off the bedside table at night.
