These pants are much thicker, heavier than I thought they'd be. For $39 they are an excellent value but like many reviews on here the top fastener broke before trying them on. This appears to be the only real negative issue but I deducted a star, they would have been a 5star were it not for the fastener. The top fastener uses a very flimsy snap type terminal thats weak.....I will come up with a better solution but all in all they are a good value. I have purchased leather pants from India China Pakistan & these pants are FAR BETTER than the ones I received in the past.

Everything just clicks. I use superglue to secure the stitches after hemming them with a Fiskars scissors. The new flat hook plus snap dual closure sure beats the old single button too. Even came with a spare snap you'll need a punch die to use. I run an industrial abrasive waterjet metal cutting machine so leather pants are ideal since I can just hose them off at the end of the day and head to a nice cafe. I treat such pants (second purchase of this brand) with Kiwi Scuff Cover every week or two to get rid of abrasion. Sometimes I use a belt but if that needs to be too tight then I switch to suspenders. Otherwise the belt pressure leads to stomach discomfort. This time I bought a size smaller and it was still a bit big so I'll only need a belt. My old pants were $600 Schott but they were so heavy. No knee joint in the back either, thus the cost along with double thick leather. Not really needed for warmth, just burn outs on a highway.

In the past, I've seen leather pants at stores for about $200. Way beyond what I care to spend.

So, recently, I purchased faux leather pants on Amazon. But I sent them back right away. They squeaked, had an ultra shiny finish, looked like cheap upholstery, and the seams were shoddy -- someone in China even forgot to create the hole for the pants button.

I searched Amazon for leather not thinking I would find anything within my budget. When I saw these by Alpha Cycle Gear, they were only 40% more than the faux leather ones. So I assumed they would be better, but not by much.

To my surprise, these look like what you would expect for $200. The leather is thick, has a grain, and a matte finish. The button-snap and hook are secure. The inside is lined. The seams are tight. My wide leather belt fits within the loops. And, although other reviewers expressed a different experience, these are the same size as my jeans and they fit perfectly.

When I first put them on, they felt a little stiff when walking and, especially, going up the stairs. But, as with any leather product, I can see that I will have to wear them for a while before they break in and start to conform to my shape.
