Easy to work with. Light weight. Good water seal.

We are almost finished with our bathroom renovation and we did a ton of research on waterproofing options. This kit was fantastic for out alcove tub bathroom. The sheets were very light which made navigating in a small space much easier then cement board. We were on a tight time line so the one step instead of cement board then waterproofing and drying saved a ton of time. It was easy to tile right over.

Love this stuff, million times lighter and easier to cut! Hate that we can't find it locally

Good product. Makes you itch like fiber glass. Over abundance of screws and washers provided. Sealant is very sticky and hard to work with.

The 5-star rating is for GoBoard. I give the KBRS Shower Seal that comes with this kit only 1 star.

I have used GoBoard on 2 showers and 1 tub surround in our new home. GoBoard is light and easy to install. It is so much easier to work with than CBU (cement backer board units like Durock or Hardiebacker), and it is already waterproof. But, the KBRS Shower Seal that came with my kit makes sealing the GoBoard much harder. It is about the consistency of bubble gum, which is extremely hard to smooth out with a drywall taping knife, leaves a layer that is much thicker than optimal, and emits a foul odor. After using two tubes of KBRS Shower Seal, I threw the rest out. When I couldn't find the recommended GoBoard Sealant anywhere, I used Liquid Nails Fuze-It, which goes on thinner, does not have an offensive odor, and worked fine. For the last shower, I found GoBoard sealant online from another etailer. GoBoard Sealant goes on like warm butter, and has no noticeable odor. So, buy the GoBoard, but forget the KBRS Shower Seal; search high and low if necessary to get GoBoard Sealant. Or, if you can't find GoBoard sealant, use Liquid Nails Fuze-It instead of KBRS Shower Seal. You will be glad you did.
