No depth finder. Looking for coins or just anything.

I AM WRITING TO UPDATE THIS REVIEW, BECAUSE I WAS SO TAKEN WITH HOW AWESOME THE SELLER WAS FOR CONTACTING ME ABOUT MY CONCERN AND RECTIFYING THE PROBLEM FAR BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS.

I simply cannot recommend this seller enough, and I wish to applaud Violet for her patience and sincere efforts to rectifying the situation for me. Not only did she go above and beyond but she gave me a choice of options to correct the situation, and she took the time to thank me for my honest feedback. This meant a lot to me and in the end my child got a new metal detector in the correct color he wanted. This made my child so incredibly happy and I am truly very thankful to the seller for all her kindness and sincere efforts to find such an outstanding solution.

As for the product, it works great. You will not be disappointed in this metal detector at all. It is made very well and it works perfectly. It keeps my little guy very happy and busy in the back yard, front yard, at the lake, and at the cabin. We could not be more pleased.

As an adult, when it comes to metal detectors and other technology, color is usually not a big deal for me unless I am buying it for a special needs kiddo on the autism spectrum who has sensory processing disorder.

Given that this is a child's metal detector the listing really ought to mention whether the colors are yellow, blue, or random, etc. At the time I purchased this there was no mention anywhere on the listing of any color deviation from the blue metal detector that is pictured. What I received was in the exact same branded box with the same model number on the box as the last one that I got last year. The one I receive last year was blue. This one is yellow. This was meant to be a gift for a child with special needs. Yellow just will not do. So I am returning this one for inaccurate website description and making the suggestion for Amazon or the seller to fix their website listing.

I wish I'd had this as a teenager when I lived in a house where the first part of the house was first built in the 1700s and was the first hotel/inn in a Westchester County NY town. I bet I'd have discovered a lot. But those days are long gone, and I doubt as a kid I'd have been able to afford a metal detector with my babysitting money anyway. Where I live now, though, is an area in another state where there was a lot of revolutionary war activity and a lot of settlement activity since then so this will be an adventure. I wish I lived in England, though, because youtube videos from England and Scotland and their finds are the best and that's what led me to look further into this (as well as the series "Detectorists" which I'd give 5 stars if reviewing it). But, still, this is working just great, and I'm enjoying it already. It's pinpoint feature is very nice, I'm not sure I'm even going to need the separate pin-pointer that I bought. Also, it was very easy to assemble and came with a little pick/shovel, a set of earphones, and a bag to carry the detector. It's a very good deal. The only feature it doesn't have is a depth finder, but I don't expect it to work like a $1,000 detector and it's doing great - it's a VERY good deal for the money spent on it, especially if it lasts awhile. Well worth it!

It's lightweight and easy to assemble. The screws that attach the disc to the pole at the bottom are extremely hard to tighten enough to keep the disc from flopping down. I swapped out the foam washers for plastic ones and that helped a lot. All the numbers and settings are a little confusing. Definitely want to read the couple-page instructions to know how to use it. Otherwise, it works well and finds metal!
