Great product and easy to install.

This blower is very quiet as advertised. It arrived fully wired and was very easy to install. It is a narrow fit, but does clear the 4.25 inch clearance if you leave off the rubber noise cushions until after you get it through the opening. If your fireplace has a glass panel that can be removed for cleaning, do that, as it allows an extra bit of entrance space for removal of old unit and installation of this unit. I am very pleased with the product as it is quieter than the original blower fan that came with the unit and really pushes the heat out.

Simple installation. The fan is very quiet even at full speed. However, the motor has a loud hum and I find this very distracting. I can hear it in the adjacent room. I do not know if this is an aspect of it sitting on a thin piece of sheet metal and thus amplifying the motor vibration or not. It appears as though the motor is of poor design for this application. I intend to try some sound-dampening measures, perhaps sitting it on a ceramic tile to see if it can be minimized to an acceptable level. If not I will be returning it. I also received a pack of cleaning supplies I did not order, it appears I was not charged for them but who needs random items, just reduce the price of the item that was ordered. Poorly packed as well.
Incredible!

I called two local fireplace service retailers who said they were backed up for two months. They said they would charge $250 to diagnose my unit and another $150 to return to install the unit. They asked me my model number, and I didn't know it, so they told me to call back.

I went online to determine where the model number might be located. By googling the model, I came across this unit and saw how easy it was to install. It was a piece of cake. SUPER EASY!

And it WORKS GREAT!!!

You can do this. It was all pre-wired, so all I had to do was plug it in and scoot it to the back of the underside of the fireplace.

Save a TON of money! Google the installation, and you'll see what I mean. This is as easy as plugging in any appliance.

Shame on local retailers who are rather proud of themselves. YOU CAN DO THIS!

The unit works terrific! It is quieter than most fans you'd put in your room to circulate air. Not silent, but very quiet. It pumps out the heat - I was amazed at how effective it was.
Hmmm...

It was relatively easy to install as I followed YouTube instructions for the facia removal. The printed instructions were also helpful as my fireplace has a powerstrip that some sort of switching is involved. Removal of the old fan switch, temperature sensor, blower and vacuuming took a half hour. Probably another half hour of head scratching and all the new parts were installed. I'll admit, when I turned the fireplace on and waited for it to heat up and the fan to come on I was anxious. But it did just that and I was relieved. My only complaint is that the motor has a hum, probably not heard or a non problem to some but as a musician the frequency of the hum bothers me. It's been running now for over a month and I would recommend this kit. Plus I saved over $500 in labor costs. The going rate here in Tahoe is $150 to show up, then the hourly rate, then the parts and then an additional hourly rate to install them.
Great and quiet, but you MUST change a simple part if you want to adjust the fan speed!

Worked great out of the box. (To test, you have to hold the thermometer component over a heat source because it won't turn on until it reaches 120F. I carefully did this over my gas stove burner on low heat.) The unit arrived all wired up which was nice, but I was surprised to see it has a rheostat (like a dimmer knob). You *cannot* use a dimmer knob on a motor like you can on a light, it will make a humming noise and will burn the fan out sooner than later. It's also a fire hazard. If you're cool with always having the fan on high speed, just leave it turned all the way up and you'll be fine. But I wanted to have fan speed control, so I unplugged the rheostat it came with and replaced it with a ceiling fan speed control switch.

Here's how I did it:

Since my fireplace has a "light switch" to turn it on, I ran two new wires to the "light" switch and replaced it with a combo ceiling fan speed/light switch. To do this, I just attached two new wires to the existing "light" switch wire (one for the fan and one for the light) and pulled it through from the "light" switch. Now I can control the fan speed and fireplace ignition from the combo switch, it remains very quiet, and there's no risk of burning up the fan motor.
