Yeah, it smells like cigarette's, but I use this at night for my eyebrows and eyelashes and, after about 8-10 months, I can see a big difference. My eyebrows are darker and thicker, which I never really expected to see happen, since I originally bought it for my eyelashes.

At 70, my eyebrows have been gradually fading and thinning to the point where you'd have to really be looking for them! So I thought I would try castor oil, which reputedly can restore hair growth. I have been using the castor oil now for about a month - once every night before bed, and sometimes in the morning, if I think of it. Sometimes I use it on my eyelashes, too, although I am afraid they're a lost cause. I can only say that I *think* my eyebrows are very slightly fuller now. But as with so many natural remedies, the results are subtle and very gradual, and you can't be sure you're not just experiencing the placebo effect. And there have been no side effects - this stuff is very benign for me. And after seeing the price of some other remedies, if it works at all, I'd say this is a bargain! I must add that I only use the brush that looks like a mascara wand on eyebrows and on lashes. I don't know what that other brush is supposed to be for, but it's very rigid and pointy, and I don't want it anywhere near my eyes.

I purchased this because I have thinning hair and eyebrows, I've been using it on my eyebrows for about two months, I am seeing results, so I just started using it around my hairline, which is thinning (thanks, menopause 😠) so I'm hoping to see results. It can take anywhere from 1-6 months to see results

Never used Jamaican castor oil before, scent isn't really that strong or offensive.. it is quite acceptable for me

The 4oz bottle is glass but the accompanying mascara and lash tubes were plastic and little disappointing

Edit : Plastic mascara tube is of really cheap quality; the bristles on mascara wand is way too hard and rough, the cap has also detached from the wand and has fallen apart

Still, the actual product, the oil is good, the seller could consider excluding the cheap accompaniments - mascara and lash tubes which definitely can't be reused and won't last long - to cut down on waste

- I have a very recent order, oil did not leak much
- the smell is quite potent (of cigarettes). After looking it up, it is supposed to smell like that
^maybe i would not have bought it if I knew it was this potent BUT I really really want longer thicker lashes (even if it is not proven)
- i do feel it slightly "sting" my eyeballs and do smell the "cigarette Smokey-ness" but like I said, I really want fuller lashes
- it has a sticker on the box that tells you where to go for a free bottle, it does not look like they want a positive review for it, just some basic info to where to send it to since the sticker directs you to a different site
- I have not gotten the free bottle or applied for it
-the oil itself- is viscous!!! It makes me jajoba oil look like water.
- I suggest looking up "dr dray castor oil" and "science vs. anecdotal evidence and reviews" by lab muffin beauty science
- dr dray says the lashes only APPEAR fuller and longer because the thick oil builds up on the lashes....... it won't actually grow your hair, she says.
-if it makes it appear fuller and thicker, I think I'm satisfied with that
