Great cage, but bad shipping
David✓ Verified Purchase•November 5, 2023
I think this is the best fit cage for me right now, I'm satisfied. I was looking for a half cage that wouldn't take too much space, would clear the ceiling of my apartment, would have a pull-up bar, integrated weight racks, the safety bar, and enough room for adjustment so I don't have to cheat my reps by having not enough adjustment room to make sure I can get a full range of motion. To that end, this rack is the perfect fit among all those I researched.
The small issues I have are with irregularities in the way the safety bar/holders are tooled, the way it was shipped, and the stability afforded by the design. The tooling is the most minor - the bars kind of lean out. They are safe, but I would like to see flush edges. The shipping, as many others have no doubt mentioned, is warranting the term "Egregious". The box should be in a box. It is tied together with plastic strips and was falling apart by the time I got it. When I got ready to take it up to my apartment, I noticed rattling in the box and carried it up piece by piece as I feared parts were loose. When I got everything ready for assembly, my fears were concerned. All the bolts/washers/tools are supposed to be molded onto a cardboard panel, but had opened up and as a result I had to buy 8 washers, 2 screws, and 2 nylon lock nuts to replace what had been lost. Fortunately these are a cheap buy, but very inconvenient. For those interested, they are 8M size which is kind of odd I've found. Once I put all that together, I tightened everything by hand and realized perhaps it would be best if I had doubled up on washers and things were designed tighter. There's more play laterally to the cage than I like. My concern is if I'm trying to do pull ups with weights on the side and this thing sways too far and I drop weights on the floor of a 3rd story apartment.

Cannot Assemble - Mismatched Hardware

The horizontal beam bolt holes do not align with the bolt holes for the right and left stabilizers making it impossible to assemble starting with step 1.
Looking at other reviews, this doesn't appear to be the first time this has happened. Customer service is not in the office due to COVID so I left an email with the CAP customer service as directed by the voicemail. Time is of the essence due to the short return window Amazon gives you (~1 month).
Packaging came a little busted up with pieces of the rack poking through the cardboard. Minimal damage but a little scraped up and rusted. Not a big deal as it's for lifting anyway.
This is my first purchase with CAP products and I would advise you to save your money and purchase a more reputable brand's power rack. I had thought this company was more reputable. Returning this 100+ lb rack is going to be a nightmare if it comes to that.
UPDATE:
Customer support got back to me in

Pretty good squat rack for the price
That One Guy✓ Verified Purchase•October 6, 2023
I got this for my home gym during the pandemic. Two years later it has held up during regular use and a cross country move. I am pretty impressed with that. I like that the rack includes small plate racks at the bottom. The pull-up bar is ok- a bit flimsy but gets the job done. The rack moves around a bit if you are really getting into your pull-ups. Overall I feel if you are putting up serious weight or slamming stuff this rack may not be the one for you, but if you are careful and take care of it it'll last a good while.
As time has gone on the J Hooks have gotten pretty beat up (picture 2), so I've had to add a bit of duct tape to keep the rubber pad in place. I really should just get replacements for them, but the metal of the hooks seem well constructed so it isn't much of a safety issue as much as aesthetics.
Final verdict- a good rack for the casual home gym.

Alright, upon reading tons of the reviews i went for it and bought the rack and i gotta say, not bad at all. I would give it a 7/10 because of a few reasons. The rack came very nicely packaged but I noticed one super weird thing after picking up the pieces out of the box. A ton and i mean a TON of tiny tiny almost microscopic beads came flooding out of each of the parts and dispersing all over my garage floor. Still have absolutely no idea what it was... the assembly started off smooth but then while trying to install the left portion of the rack four of the screw holes were too small for the screws... luckily i had some that would work perfectly but if i hadn't I would have had to send it back and would've been 3x as upset haha. After fully assembling the rack , i noticed that the J hooks kept turning to the side automatically after resetting them , resting the bar on it a few times helped solve this problem for whatever reason. I then noticed that the safety catchers didn't lock fully and honestly doesn't seem like it would hold well so i had to order new ones .. last but not least the holders for the plates were HUGE compared to Olympic plates i had and now serve as a stepping stool to tie any attachments to the bar. All in all I'd say it's a great rack with good quality but needs better testing and inspection before it's shipped out.
