Cut: "Evo-Negative Cut" - This is RGK's new negative cut, and it feels amazing! It's the very definition of "fits like a glove." Unlike RGK's traditional negative cut gloves, the Evo-negatives have some sort of tacky material on the sides (in-between the fingers) (I think it's called Breathapene?). Supposedly the material allows for ventilation while still keeping a solid material, which may help with control at the margins. Honestly, it sounds like magic, but maybe it's just tech I don't understand. Either way, they feel great on the inside as well! Also, there's no need to order a size bigger to fit these on - they slipped on with absolutely no struggle.

The Grip: OK, here's the main reason why I wanted these. The grip (RGK calls it "German EXT Contact") is pro-level grip, and the Eclipse line is the only line they have which has this level grip. To be honest, RGK's Giga grip is already really good, and I've been perfectly happy with the gloves I have which have the Giga, but for the price that the Eclipse line are going at, there was no way I was going to turn down the chance to buy a pro-level grip glove at about half the price of a smilar-level Reusch or Nike glove! My main concern is how well they'll hold-up against the very abrasive older-generation turf I play on (plus I don't have the best diving technique). If they wear-out quickly, despite my best efforts to care for them, I'll update accordingly. Ultimately, for this price, it's low-risk/high-reward.

Additional Note on Palm Design: New to RGK's design is the "Duratek" extended palm puller, which extends up into the bottom part of the palm (see pic), and has a ridged rubber. I assume this is to add more friction? The middle part of the extended puller is more Breathapene material to add more grip for when you miss catching the ball directly on your palms.

Backhand - The knuckles are protected by these rubbery speed bumps, the material on the backhand feels like a wetsuit, and if you can't tell from the pic, the insignia is a raised rubber material. I'm not sure if the raised RGK insignia is a good thing/bad thing/no-thing, but at least it looks and feels cool.

Comparison to other brands at this price point: There really is no comparison at THIS price point - and that's the biggest selling point, I think. From a quality/performance standpoint, the best comparison is probably the Reusch Pure Contact II G3 Fusion, or the Nike Vapor Grip 3, but those are selling for $100+ (and do they have a no-questions-asked 30-day return policy like RGK?). From a price standpoint, these gloves are selling at a sub-level quality price. Basically, if you swapped a Reusch/Nike/Adidas label on these gloves, they'd probably sell at $120.

Bottom-line: For a Weekend Warrior such as myself, I have no reason to buy such amazing gloves, but at this price point, how could I turn down such an opportunity?

P.S. RGK provides old-school, mom-and-pop shop level customer service, which nowadays is so rare and highly appreciated, and it's made me a loyal customer for life. When my kids' hands are big enough, they'll be shot-stopping in RGKs =)

I love the gloves, but they are a little tight and harder to get on. They might loosen up some as I use them more often. Very nice looking and comfortable.

Overall we like these gloves, they fit well the look is great. We are 1 fall season and 1 indoor season in and the interior (palm side) of the glove is starting to fall apart. It has a lot of divots and even after you clean them they aren't as grippy as they once were. The last time after my son put them on the zipper on the exterior side broke apart, not sure how my son was sliding them on and it just popped off hopefully we can fix that.

Overall a great glove which fits well and will get better with use. This is by no means a slam as I love USA made products BUT may serve the manufacturer well going forward. Only concerns are as follows:
1. A number of loose thread tag ends on both gloves. One was actually unraveling completely. An Easy fix on my end but it still slipped through QC.
2. Plastic palm protective wrap was a bit of a pain to remove. I watched the YouTube video of how to do it but to be honest it was more of a promo on the gloves than anything else. Stick to the task at hand. Simple is always better!!
3. There were extra pieces of rubber on the top side on one glove that probably dribbled out of the mold that were hanging off. I simply removed but again this got through QC.
Tip: When removing the protective wrap PLEASE, PLEASE be VERY careful as if you pinch to hard, which you do at times, you can also pinch off some of the latex underneath.

This is my second pair of gloves from Renegade GK. My previous pair (the Fury series) were an exceptional glove with professional quality, but at a price that was great even for a recreational player like myself. So when it came time to replace that pair, I immediately went back to Renegade GK.

Like my previous pair of gloves, the Eclipse do not disappoint.

The backhand and glove entrance uses a soft neoprene fabric that fits like a second skin. This makes the gloves feel less bulky compared to others I have used that were covered in latex across most of the backhand. To maintain grip on the backs of the fingers, Renegade GK has used a soft, sticky, gel-like rubber. This provides great articulation, and I expect will perform even better than latex-backed fingers when in contact with the ball.

The glove entrance is darted with a thin, elastic material, which helps make the gloves easy to slip on. The closure uses a strong piece of athletic elastic that wraps around the entire wrist. Compared to my last pair, these gloves are easier to don and doff, but feel just as secure. If I have one complaint, it's that I find the pull-tab for releasing the closure to be a bit large and floppy while wearing the gloves. While it makes releasing the closure easier (without any damage to the fingers by rubbing on velcro), and I don't expect it to lead to any performance issues, I would prefer something a bit more compact. It's easy enough to trim down though, so no worries.

The palm is soft and tacky. I haven't had a chance to use these gloves on the field yet, but they feel stickier than many other gloves I have used in the past.

Fingersaves can be inserted through the zippered slot in the back of the glove. Super easy to adjust to your personal preference.

The fit is true to size with other gloves I have worn.

Finally, the customer service at Renegade GK is stellar. Last time I orderd from them I needed to exchange sizes. Their communication was great, and they even shipped me a new pair before getting the original pair back just so I would have them in time for an upcoming game.
