Got this for my husband. Our old one fell apart. This is a Great product. Love the red color, it is very well thought out from the textured piece you place the can on to the top part that has molded metal to secure it won't slip out while crushing the can. It is by far a superior product compared to others I have purchased. It is very sturdy and heavy duty.

This thing has been crushing cans daily for about a year, with no signs of slowing down!
The durability is amazing; the construction is solid, and I've done nothing but abuse this thing on a regular basis. It will hold 8 to 10 cans in the storage area until you're ready to crush them. The thick plastic block / crushing surface is by no means wimpy; au contraire, it's really strong!
It's worth mentioning that if you want to crush taller cans (like 16 oz), you've got to load them in one at a time from the bottom.
I would totally buy this product again "” it's a can-demolishing beast!

The product is great overall, but the included wood screws are soft and eager to strip. Do yourself a favor and use other wood screws.

I bought 3 of these: two for myself and one for a gift.

In general -- especially considering the price -- it's a nice item and does what it says: compacts cans. It's not perfect and the handle doesn't always stay up and can 'drop' unexpectedly, surprising you on a quiet night, lol. But for under $20, I'm not expecting the smoothness of a Snap-on ratchet.

However - the mounting screws with the last crusher I ordered are complete junk. Screwing this unit firmly into the wall is critical and the supplied screws, even with drilling a pilot hole, are incredibly soft and the heads easily strip.

I installed my can crusher in the garage over a month ago and so far it is performing well. I was a little apprehensive when I first received the crusher because I immediately saw only 2 screw holes would line up with the studs in my walls (one at the top, one at the bottom), yet 4 holes are provided. The pamphlet that accompanies the crusher doesn't say installation requires all 4 screws, but I was a little worried that the force needed to crush a can might rip the unit from the wall if it wasn't supported properly. Despite this, I went ahead and installed the crusher using only 2 screws because I didn't have good wall anchors available at the time. I agree with other reviewers who state that the provided screws seem a little cheap; however, I used the provided screws and so far everything is working fine. I've crushed several cans and bottles with it, and the unit does not seem to be rattling loose. It still feels like it is solidly attached to the wall and not breaking away. One thing that surprised me about the crusher is that it is not a big as I thought it would be. It can hold/crush a 12oz bottle of water and cans up to 16 ounces, but it will not accommodate containers much larger than that. Also, if you crush bottles with it like I do all the time, make sure you keep the caps with the bottle because you need to twist them on after crushing or the bottle will just re-expand.
