The media could not be loaded. I saw this car and was curious if it did off-road as well as it claimed. Spoiler alert: it does! Plus, it does 30+ mph, which makes it really fun to race!

The DEERC RC car is 1:18 scale so the size was as expected. The wheels are "grippy" and the shocks felt good. Normally, I prefer a car that's a bit bigger. I was surprised to see how well it maneuvered despite it's smaller size.

Outside, I was anxious to see what it could do because RC cars don't always live up to the hype. But it did really well! The steering is smooth and the speeds range from slow and steady to quick and agile. The car glides easily over bumps and rocky ground - I didn't have any trouble with it getting stuck until I took it into the snow. But it isn't designed for snow - plus, we have quite a few inches of hard, icy snow so I wasn't surprised. But on grass, it did really well. It even backs up smoothly.

The remote takes 3 AA batteries (not included) and has many different settings on it. Being able to make tweaks to how the car steers and drives is a nice perk. You can adjust how sharp of turns the car makes and how fast the car can actually go just by turning a knob. Inside the box, you will find an instruction manual, the car, and the remote. The instruction manual is very detailed and tells you absolutely everything you need to know to get this RC car up and running quickly. The car has a charging cable to charge the vehicle and includes a battery.

Overall, I was impressed with this car. The battery life was good at 20+ minutes and I didn't notice the battery pack getting too hot, which was nice. The 4WD capability made it great for off-road driving.

Because you can adjust the sharpness of the turning and how fast the car can go, this RC car is a great pick for all ages. You just slow the car down for younger kids and adjust the setting to let it go faster as they get older and are able to control the car better.

It's fast and powerful. I have not had it out in about 3 weeks. I am thinking the 2nd motor pickled out on me I thought it was 4 wheel drive.

This is the first RC car I've purchased in many years, so I wasn't sure what to expect. When I was unboxing it, two things stood out. One was the heft of the truck itself. It was solid, and all the suspension and undercarriage seemed very sturdy. The other thing that stood out then was the body of the truck, where the former was very heavy duty, the body panels were very flimsy and light. However, after further thought and after using the rc truck, I determined this was done to cut down on weight. The body itself serves no purpose other than for cosmetics and to hide the battery and motor, and for this is serves its purpose.
I unboxed this car inside and for my first use, it was in our kitchen. This is where the speed adjustment on the controller was necessary. This car is too fast to be used indoors at full, or even half, speed. It went from one end of the room to the other in less than a second, but once I turned the speed down, it was useable indoors, and the cats and dog in my house were either entertained or scared to death.
Driving this outdoors is where you'll have the most fun. I operated this in the street and in the yards out in front of our house and was amazed at how fast it was. A few times when jumping curbs, the RC truck caught some air and landed and just kept going. I imaging a young boy would have a lot of fun building ramps and obstacles for such a toy.
I've read other reviews that complained about the trim adjustment. Having operated quite a few drones and the trim that goes with those, I found this trim to be so straight forward and easy to do that I can't understand what the problem was for these people complaining. I ran the RC Car on the street as noted above. When running in a straight line, it would slowly turn one way or the other. A gentle turn of the trim adjustment in the opposite direction had this car running dead straight with just an adjustment or two.
The only negative thing I have to say about this drone is in regard to the clips that hold the body on the vehicle. There are 4 posts that stick up from the chassis of truck so that when the body of the truck is placed over the chassis, the ends of these posts extend through the body. There are small clips that then go through holes in the end of the posts that hold the body on. The issue I had was that the holes in the posts and the clips themselves were so small, I had to put on reading glasses to put these on. The clips on two of the posts were very difficult to put back on once removed. Unfortunately, you need to remove these clips in order to change the battery. I think I'll find an alternative clip for these or simply operate without the body on the truck in the future.
To summarize, this truck does everything I expected it to do and it's much faster than I would have thought. I think kids will have endless fun coming up with challenging feats for this RC car to do.

This is like the 7th time im trying to post a review. I bought this item for my Husband for Christmas. We had bought a simple one (same brand) over the summer for our daughter. We liked it and I decided to buy a more advanced one for my husband. He hasn't driven it much yet but has been driving it in the house. The simple one we bought goes great in the grass and on uneven surfaces. We don't think this one will have any issues either. The Car controls are a bit advanced for your beginner driver and its pretty quick. The controls have a lot of adjustability. However, when the Throttle trim control is turned all the way down it doesn't want to go into reverse. It sounds like it is trying and it wants to. The lowest it can be set is with the Throttle trim set to 2.
It takes a bit getting used to when trying to put the car into reverse. When your used to "toy" remote cars this one is different. When going forward and then throwing the car into reverse it just stops. You have to release and then put it back into reverse to go backward. This isn't necessarily an issue but when your used to one way and then have to change its just taking time to get used to it.
The full function remote is light weight and comfortable to hold. Seems that all the functions are working properly as well. The proportional steering works really well and is self centering. The trim knobs on the remote are hard to see where they are set to. The power light is a little blinding when trying to see the trim controls.. You need good light to see them and they might still be hard. It would help if the arrows on the knobs were painted white.
There is a few finish issues that indicate the price point. Not a function thing just purely aesthetic and hasn't effected my rating. The stickers on the remote are not lined up and keep wanting to peel off. One of the stickers is slightly above edge and is rippled. That makes the edge ruff like plastic that has been dropped and dented. So it's kind of a sharp feeling.
Looking at the actual parts of the car without the cover.. feels sturdy/solid, the belly pan structure is a solid stiff plastic, all the suspension arms and knuckles are the same thick plastic the chassis is made from. The shocks are not fluid filled and just a spring, everything appears to be serviceable. If you do break something the instructions have an exploded view with part numbers. All drive shafts are metal. There are 6 adjustment heights for the body and it came with tools to adjust as needed. Out of the box charge gave a 20 minute use and came with 2 batteries.

I was a bit skeptical when I got this RC truck and saw how small it was. But right out of the box I was impressed! The truck is very solid and does not have that "toy" feel to it. It is well built and the mechanicals are like something I would expect on a more expensive model. My first test, dropping it from about 2 feet onto the driveway was a success. The truck did not rattle or bounce, it just cushioned the landing on its shocks perfectly. Driving is very easy and with adjustable throttle control it can be set low so the kids can drive it as well. The top speed is not 30+ like the description says...the box says 25MPH which is probably more realistic. Top speed is not where this trucks shines though. I was very impressed with the real 4x4 drive. It handled grass, deep leaves and dirt with no issues. And it is very quick on take off and turning. I was also impressed at how stable it is given the small wheel base. I flipped it several times and most times it landed back on its wheels and kept going! Definitely going to have some more fun with this little truck! Battery life is as advertised. While charging is a little slow the play time coming from two batteries is more than enough. The only negative I found was the remote controller. It feels a little flimsy and looks like a plastic toy. Functionally it works fine and has very precise trim adjustments right on the top.
