I love the fact that I am doing my first job ever with a punch tool, but was pretty scared yesterday when I was working on my wiring and noticed my punch tool stopped cutting the wire. Looking closer 2 screws fell out of the device. After a lot of sweeping I found the two screws and found I had to play with the tension to make the tool start cutting again. I'll be able to use it but I have to watch the device for the screws falling out.
The Ethernet crimper is great. Easy to use.
The tester has come in very handy to ensure I wired the connections correctly.
The wire cutting tool makes it super easy to expose wires. I even used it to fix my RG-59 Cox cable after the gas company accidentally cut the line. (Doing big project, 1300 Sq/Ft addition).

This package is great and not too bulky to test and repair cables. They provided everything you need, so you won't be making multiple trips back and forth to your garage or trying to use the little pocket knife in your pocket. I had pulled an old mini patch panel out of our security system/AV distribution panel and put new RJ-45 ends on so now we fit our Ting fiber Internet modem in there, and it's super neat and tucked away.

If you are starting out and learning the ropes or just doing basic cabling. This pack is great for you. It comes with everything you could need to get started. I been using it for a couple of months now and it is still able to be very productive making cables on the fly.

the only issues i found is. for the cable stripper tool, you need to adjust the blade as currently it can cut very deep and cut the individual wires. so it is best to adjust it with the screw driver till it extends enough to only remove the outer casing. the crimper tool, it takes getting use to if you dont push the rj45 cap in all the way. also the blade can miss if you don't like up all the excess cables. it takes getting use to because they have to feed thru a certain way for the crimper to cut off the excess wires.

overall.. this is a great starter set. the blade is still as sharp as when i first bought the tools.

If you just need a crimper you might be better off just buying a crimper and even paying a little more for it if you need it for professional use. For me, it cut well enough that I don't have a lot of negatives for the crimper. I know that seems contradictory that I'm suggesting you buy another product just for the crimper and yet I'm writing that the crimper is fine.

I just needed this for a home project and didn't want to build a full kit just for one crimp so a cheap kit was good for me. If you are starting out, this might be a good kit for you also.

If you already have a crimper and you are looking to upgrade, this might not be it unless you need a passthrough crimper. I myself already have a couple of crimpers but neither are passthrough and I don't have ends for my crimpers so this was a fast way to get everything.

The tester didn't work for me and lights 2 and 6 just remain lit. I tested it with many different cables and two fresh batteries so it just seems like a dud. I'd get a better cable tester for a serious project since I'd be worried that these will die on me halfway through a project, or not at all. It would have been nice to test my cables but if you can run data at full speeds without weird disconnections issues, the cable is likely fine.

I will say, the cable stripper worked great to take off the jacket from cables. I did about 10 ends and I never cut through any of the wires. I usually have to be more careful with other strippers.

I didn't try the punch down tool yet but I've had to make do with the cheap smalls ones for emergencies and this can't be worse than that. I hope.

I don't want to deter anyone from this kit. I would just say to set your expectations and if you're using this for a serious project, test everything to make sure it'll work for you.

Like that the color code is on the tool. A or B. Would like a pocket on the bag for more instructions for those of us who do not use it day in and day out so as to refresh memory on how everything works. So many tools for a reasonable price.
