I turn on my sander, and the shopvac comes on. I turn off my sander and the shopvac turns off a few seconds later. Just as advertised.

Pretty certain I'll be mocked for using this this way, but my HVAC controller board stopped working in certain functions. It will allow the blower fan to operate in 'FAN ONLY' and 'HEAT' but not 'AC' mode. So I was skeptical if the board would draw enough power to trigger the vaccuum mode, but it does. 30 watts was the lowest 'ON' that similar boards would allow. This one triggers at 25 watts. Just enough to get the blower to activate when the NEST controller sets 'COOL' mode. Buying a new board (for a now 15 year old unit) would have cost $130. Buying this and making it work cut that cost down to a quarter of that. A fix for now that if I decide to buy a new board later on... I'll revert this back to its original intent.

Least expensive solution, but if you pay more to get adjustable delay timer that may be worth it. This one runs a little too long after saw stops.

I have two of these auto switches hooked up to both a dehumidifier and a window A/C. These activate at 30 watts of power versus the other style that turns on at 5 amps.
For the dehumidifier, this operates an hour meter to monitor the hours the dehumidifier runs and a box fan to help mix the air in the room. When the dehumidifier shuts off, the box fan will also shut off as well saving on electricity. When the dehumidifier turns back on, so does the box fan.
For the window A/C, the other one operates an Amazon Basics 20-inch box fan that helps circulate the cool air off the floor and mix it with the heat at the ceiling making the window A/C work more efficiently. Once the A/C turns off, the box fan also shuts of saving on electricity. But when the window A/C turns back on, so does the box fan.
I have other plans for these auto switches for other uses besides power tools and vacuum cleaners. Since these activate at 30 watts instead of another brand at 5 amps, I could use it for other equipment. Possibly monitor the hours my refrigerator runs, and the chest freezer, maybe the dishwasher and clothes washer as well.
