Solid but instructions lacking
Amazon Customer✓ Verified Purchase•January 23, 2024
This thing is solid and well built but the instructions are fuzzy and lacking much detail. I've got left over lock washers that I don't know where to go, no mention of how many of what size washers in the contents, no mention on how to use the anti wobble thing. It's not hard to figure out how to build it but it definitely takes some thought.
Barely good enough

Purchased to carry a Kawasaki KLR 650 on the back of my 4Runner. Bike is 432lbs, carrier is 50lbs. The "dead weight" rating on my hitch is 500lbs, so it squeaks in under the limit. I won't be going off road at all, so it should be fine. The Amazon product description says it can carry 500lbs, but the instructions in the box say it can carry 600lbs.
Just like many others, I received a beat up box with hardware rattling around freely inside. I am amazed it was all there. Mine had "instructions" but they were basically worthless. The picture was blurry, the actual words were basically like this: "attach this thing to this thing." No detail at all. Nothing to tell you where the washers should go or anything like that. However, almost anyone could stumble their way through the assembly though. I used some wrenches and an impact to get it done.
Mine required a little "modification" to fit into my receiver. The side walls on the shank, at the holes where the hitch pin goes through is slightly bowed out just enough to prevent the shank from sliding all the way into the receiver. I had to beat it back into shape with a few hits with a hammer. And I am not sure how to use the strange looking anti sway device. It isn't even listed in the instructions as a part.
All and all, it is a bit unnerving to think the only thing stopping my bike from becoming a pile of broken parts on the interstate is this carrier. I also find it odd that the picture used to sell this is a street bike but the instructions clearly state that this carrier isn't for street bikes.

Great price for what you get

I ordered this to transport a 200lb kid mid-sized dirt bike on a Class III trailer hitch. It worked exactly as described and the price is very good for what you get - especially if you can get it on sale. It isn't as light as a more expensive aluminum carrier but it works just as well. I would probably not want to transport a heavy bike personally but the 200-300lb range seems OK. There are 4 holes to for tie downs. The ramp works great to get the bike up onto the carrier and also has a lip to hold it in place. However, the ramp is heavy duty and probably weighs 1/4 of the total weight of the carrier so if you remove it before handling the carrier it certainly makes it easier. The instructions are very minimal so I recommend consulting images to make sure you are putting it together correctly. Make sure your bolts face outward so the ends are not poking into the rails which might impact your tires. Other than that, it took maybe 1.5 hrs to assemble and test out. There is a very important insert that goes into the trailer receiver part of the transport. This is for integrity so make sure it is in the right place and the right orientation. There is also a metal cylinder that goes over the receiver bolt after you insert and secure it through the receiver hitch with a cotter pin. Overall the price is very reasonable for what you get. Make sure you inventory all the parts before beginning as some might fall out of the box before you get it. I posted a picture so you can easily organize the parts based on what I got.

Rack came in great condition no scratches or marks. Holes worked well for tie down and it was sturdy. Ramp made loading and unloading easy. Instructions on how to put it together were horrible. But was able to watch a few videos and figured it out. Make sure to pull out the 2 screws for where the front and back tires are so the bike sits deeper it will also help keep it stable.
I put one strap that connected to the roof of the car just in case it let lose but it held up for the hour drive without moving
Overall very good hitch rack for the money!
