This is a good set of practice nunchucks. Size and grip are good. The foam softens it enough so that you do not get injured when hit but also still allows a good sting to make you remember your mistakes.
I made one modification to them that I think helped. I inserted snug dowel rods along the whole length of the inside of each nunchuck and glued them in place. It took a little effort, but I think it was worth it. It helped with two complaints that many people had: First, the complaint that they are too light, which is valid, but with the dowel rods in them, the weight was much more realistic. Second, the complaint that they are breakable, which I could see, since they are plastic with a hollow core, which means they will break if you hit something too hard--they will flex and snap. Reinforcing the inside with a dowel rod has toughened them up and made them much more difficult to break. So far so good for my use of them. With these modifications, I think they are a perfect set of practice nunchucks.
