My 7-year-old son got this set as a gift. He absolutely loves playing with these with his friends using the flashlight to investigate with each kid setting their own ringtone with 10 ringtones to choose from, which they enjoy changing. I love the fact I never have to buy batteries like with the toy walkie talkies and the battery lasts all day for hours. We tested these radios at the mall and the range was superb. I especially love the VOX hands-free feature which allows me to communicate with my child all day from different parts of the house or when he goes to his neighbors house. All we need to do is speak because it's voice activated. This is 100 percent license free, unlike other 2 way radios on Amazon. I am still waiting to get a weather alert. But that is also an awesome feature.
