It's a true black. I only needed one coat. Very easy to apply with the given wand.
It is very drying. But it's a matte lipstick, so what would you expect..? If you want it to last the longest it can, it recommends you do not moisturizerize before applying it; make sure your lips are completely dry.
I ate a Reece's while wearing it, and the oil from that, wiped some off my lip but I don't think a little touch up would be an issue. But I don't think it likes food.
I never wore it too long, due to masks and I'd rather not risk the lipstick wiping off onto my mask. So I could not rate that part.
Clean up was very easy for me. I used a non-oil based (although I swear is oilier than oil itself lol) make-up remover, and it came right off. Water itself didn't really do much, not until the make-up remover had been used first, at least.
Overall I love it! Would buy again, when I run out.
