I liked the gift and the thought behind it. I was a tad disappointed in how dark the coloring is, pic shows rock behind amethyst to be light in color when it is actually very dark, black almost and makes it hard to see the purple in the amethyst.

This will be a Christmas gift for our 15 year old son who is an avid gemstone collector. He has several small amethyst clusters as well as carved ones.
