Update: I have now used this in a couple rooms with dated and chipping laminate countertops. The material has held up extremely well over the last 6 months, though I would reiterate that it can be sliced or scratched. I would probably not use this in a kitchen where it might be cut on. Similarly a stray box cutter can go awry. But this is a great affordable option for updating laundry rooms, bathrooms, and other areas of the home. My family comments on how nice it looks every time they are over.

This is the second time I have ordered this laminate. I covered my kitchen counters years ago, but recently I wanted to make a change. The first covering lasted very well, but of course had some damage over the years of use. I would recommend this product highly.
Pretty when installed smoothly but that is not so easy to do depending on the countertop shape.

I would suggest this if you have an island, or a countertop like in the pic with no built in backsplash. We have the built in backsplash and a sink and this was quite difficult to do. I don't blame the product, it is what it is but do consider taking the sink out if you have to go around a sink. The online videos show you can just cut out the sink space but getting that perfect is very very hard to do. Just going over the sink hole, cutting it large and putting the sink back would have been much smarter. The backsplash was our big issue. It really never got smooth, even after using a hair dryer, though that did help a lot. But it is serving its purpose which is to give me an idea of if I like black for the counters before I buy expensive countertop. It took us 3 hrs to do 12 ft of countertop, one 2 ft section and the other a 10 ft length with the dreaded sink.
We are experienced DIYers, having built our own home from the ground up... putting in a cheap countertop from the home store would have been much easier ;)

This product totally changed my kitchen counter tops from plain Formica white to like real granite countertops your countertops have to be flat for this product because it's just a very large sticker but it's very thick I'm not very good with stickers but if you watch the videos on YouTube on how to put on this product it helps tremendously
