Good, with exceptions

Bought these to be used with elderly parent.
Pros:
1. Easy to use - one button push to talk (PTT). Has 2 PTT buttons for convenience: One large button on front, one smaller button on left side.
2. Has clip and comes with laniard to be able to easily keep nearby.
3. Long range, clear sound, and good volume adjustment.
Cons:
1. Short battery life. Lasts about 2 days in "standby mode." Takes about 5 hrs for a full charge.
2. No "battery level" indicator -instead, you get an obnoxious Chinese voice yelling loudly at you to "Please charge the battery!" That's a very startling event when the battery dies at 3AM!! Why not just have a "beep"?
3. "Breathing Light" - when the unit is powered on, there is a very bright, green LED light that circles the front PTT button. I had to place the unit front side down, so this obnoxious light wouldn't keep me awake at night. I'm guessing that the battery would last much longer if this light didn't constantly cycle on and off.
4. While you can adjust the volume for the actual voice transmissions, you cannot adjust the volume of the system voice when you press a button. It is VERY loud, so forget making any type of adjustment near someone who is sleeping.
Overall, these units are easy to use, and have good range. If you can live with their quirks you'll be glad you purchased.

AFter looking at many of these and reading reviews, I bought these and it has been just one day but they seem to work exactly as I needed. We use them for communication within the 3 floors of our home (2 story with a basement). My mom can hear us fine with hers in the basement and my son and I can talk when he is upstairs and I am down (better than hollering!) So far love them! Not a lot of instructions or details (written by a non english speaker from what it looks like and the device in the instr packet is a different model so some buttons are in diff places but not much to do but push to talk and charge it. Very pleased so far:)

I got these for my elderly parents so they don't need to yell through the house. Very simple controls. Doesn't make the loud beep when a pressing the talk button like most devices like this.

The units are compact and have great sound. I use it with my Elderly Father. We live in two different houses on the same property. It is easy for him to speak to me and be heard. It is difficult however to put the charge plug in the walkie talkie. It takes several attempts even for me to connect it to charge.
