The plates are sturdy and very nice looking. However, I didn't realize that they are not microwave safe. I went back and read through the description online and it does say that but you have to read so much to see that. Anyone would have missed it. That is important information and should be listed at the forefront of the description. If I had known that I would not have purchased.
