I was searching for a way to make my eggs fit on my Martin's potato roll. I looked at a lot of products and settled on these because they were low cost and had good reviews. I almost went four stars due to the lack of instructions, but the eggs came out so well I had to go five.
I have only used them once and followed the instructions from other reviews. Here's what I did... I heated the pans well, sprayed the bottom of the silicone with Pam, and I put coconut oil in the middle of the ring once on the pan. I also pressed and held the ring down a few separate times to create a seal.
They worked great, I didn't have any leakage of egg whites. I was able to remove the ring about halfway and flip the eggs, I like to cook both sides. There was a little run off after the flip, you can see it in the pictures, but that isn't the rings fault.

So I wasn't sure if I wanted these when reading the reviews. Some love them others say they dont work. Well, they are both right. As long as you have something to help seal the bottom like bacon fat or butter, you can break an egg into it quite nicely with minimal run as the whites are thick enough to seal up the edges. BUT if you pre-beat your eggs and pout the mix in, it wont take and will leak out everywhere. Maybe if you have a ton of oil or butter but its mostly too think of a mix to stay put. I guess I can live with that and will just make fried eggs in them, pull the rings off and go over easy for breakfast.
